The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives paused season 5 production amid Taylor Frankie Paul's alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident

Hours after the production news, reports began circulating that the Mormon Wives stars are distancing themselves from Paul

Jessi Ngatikaura is now speaking out on the claims, including speculation that the costars were "jealous"

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Ngatikaura is speaking out following the reports that the cast is distancing themselves from costar Taylor Frankie Paul amid revelations of an alleged domestic violence incident that halted season 5 production.

On Monday, March 16, a source told PEOPLE that season 5 of the reality series has halted production. "They are not filming," a source said. "Taylor has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off."

Another source close to the cast confirmed to PEOPLE that the fellow members of MomTok are distancing themselves from Paul, 31. "None of the women want to be associated with her," the source noted.

A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department previously confirmed to PEOPLE that there was an open "domestic assault investigation" regarding Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. The spokesperson also confirmed that "allegations have been made in both directions" and "contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th."

After news of the production halt, social media personalities shared the update on Instagram, including No Filter with Zack Peter, who spoke on reports that allege that cast is "upset with Taylor" for "stealing the show" and serving as the new Bachelorette.

"It seemed like maybe it could have been a jealousy thing," Peter said in his video, to which Ngatikaura, 33, replied in the comment section.

"It was never a jealousy thing lol," the TV personality wrote.

"The girls are very overwhelmed. They all banded together and they don't want to come back right now," a source close to production told PEOPLE. "They were just getting tired of Taylor, honestly."

"Everything was going smoothly" before this incident, but "the girls do have a resentment towards her," the source claimed.

"They kind of all decided, as a unit, that they're taking the production pause, that they don't want to film right now," the source said. "I don't think they care about her really right now. They're just kind of like, 'We're done for right now.' "

"She's been very quiet," the source said of Paul.

The pause of season 5 production comes three days after Hulu released the series' fourth season. Throughout the series, Paul and Mortensen's tumultuous relationship has served as a central story arc.

Reps for Paul and Hulu did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment about the production stop.

The latest season revealed that Paul spent the night with Mortensen the night before leaving to star in season 22 of The Bachelorette. Paul's season of The Bachelorette is set to premiere this Sunday, March 22, on ABC. A spokesperson for the show did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Previous to the production of The Bachelorette and the more recent seasons of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Paul was arrested in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident in February 2023 following an argument with Mortensen. Thirteen months later, in March 2024, she and Mortensen welcomed their son, Ever. Paul also shares daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband, Tate Paul.

The reality TV star was charged with misdemeanors assault, criminal mischief and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child, after she was accused of throwing a chair at Mortensen that allegedly hit her daughter, per reporting by CBS News at the time.

During a Sept. 10 appearance on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, Paul noted the charges "were all dropped." According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Paul pled guilty in abeyance to the charge of aggravated assault, which means that if she complies with the conditions of the plea, the charge is dismissed. All other charges were dropped

Kouri Richins, a Utah woman accused of fatally poisoning her husband with fentanyl, who self-published a children's book on grieving following his death, has been found guilty of murder following a weekslong trial.

The Summit County jury began deliberating late Monday afternoon before reaching a verdict after about three hours. She was found guilty on all five counts, including aggravated murder and attempted aggravated murder.

Kouri Richins looked down and remained still while the judge read out each guilty verdict. Her sentencing has been scheduled for May 13.

David Jackson/The Park Record/Pool - PHOTO: Kouri Richins during closing arguments at the Summit County Courthouse in Park City, Utah, March 16, 2026.

During closing arguments earlier Monday, prosecutors alleged that the mom of three was obsessed with appearing "privileged, affluent and successful" and killed her husband to help pay the debts of her floundering home flipping business and to get a "fresh start."

The defense, meanwhile, said the case was "sloppy" and "driven by bias" and argued that the state failed to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.

Kouri Richins, 35, was charged with aggravated murder in connection with the 2022 death of her husband, Eric Richins, following a lengthy investigation. Prosecutors allege she spiked his drink with a lethal dose of fentanyl that she purchased illicitly after asking two people for the "Michael Jackson drug."

"Kouri Richins was a suburban mother, real estate agent. She does not know a lot about the illicit street drug world, but she knows Michael Jackson died from taking drugs," prosecutor Brad Bloodworth said during closing arguments on Monday. "She doesn't know how to order a street drug, but she knows she wants the Michael Jackson stuff. She knows she wants it because it is lethal. It is fatal. It kills. And she wanted lethal, fatal death."

Her charges also include attempted aggravated murder, with prosecutors alleging she gave her husband a sandwich laced with fentanyl on Valentine's Day two weeks before his death in an initial, failed attempt to kill him.

Key witness in Kouri Richins murder trial admits to getting illicit drugs for Utah mom accused of killing husband with fentanyl

Kouri Richins was also accused of committing insurance fraud by taking out a $100,000 insurance policy on his life with his forged signature and then submitting a claim following his alleged murder.

She pleaded not guilty and has maintained her innocence.

Her husband, 39-year-old Eric Richins, was found dead in bed on March 4, 2022. An autopsy determined that he died from fentanyl intoxication, and the level of fentanyl in his blood was approximately five times the lethal dosage, according to the charging document. The medical examiner determined the fentanyl was "illicit fentanyl," not medical grade, according to the charging document.

Prosecutors allege that Kouri Richins purchased illicit fentanyl pills shortly before the Valentine's Day incident and again before his death, at which point she allegedly asked for stronger drugs.

'Downward financial death spiral': Prosecutor

During his closing argument, Bloodworth said Kouri Richins was in "financial desperation" due to her realty company's debts and needed a significant influx of cash immediately. He alleged she believed she would have financially benefited from her husband's death -- without realizing that his assets were in a trust for their children.

Bloodworth said October 2021 was the "beginning of the downward financial death spiral" of Kouri Richins' realty business, and that she had a growing debt picture nearing $8 million.

He alleged Kouri Richins intended to cause her husband's death as early as December 2021, when she was booked a vacation with her boyfriend for April 2022.

"Kouri Richins did not book that trip thinking Eric Richins would be alive in April, she booked it knowing he would not," Bloodworth said.

Bloodworth referred to evidence that he alleged showed she intended to cause her husband's death. A witness testified during the trial that in December 2021 Kouri Richins said to her that "in many ways it would be better" if Eric Richins "were dead." In February 19, 2022, days after the alleged attempted murder attempt, prosecutors said Kouri Richins texted her boyfriend, "If he could just go away and you could just be here! Life would be so perfect!!"

David Jackson/Park Record/Pool - PHOTO: Summit County Prosecuter Brad Bloodworth presenting the state's final arguments at the Summit County Courthouse in Park City, Utah, March 16, 2026.

Bloodworth said Kouri Richins tried to cover up her alleged role in her husband's death, starting with the 911 call.

"Listen to how she tells the 911 dispatcher where she was when Eric died. She is distancing herself," Bloodworth said before the call was played again for jurors. "Rather than, 'He's not breathing. He has no pulse. I have to figure out what to do. I need help,' she's saying, 'Hey, look, I was not there. I was in my son's room.' That's her alibi. She's distancing herself from the time and the place that she murdered Eric."

Bloodworth also said the call shows that the 911 operator asked Kouri Richins to perform CPR on her husband for 6 minutes before she purportedly did. "She is not immediately trying to revive him," he said.

Bloodworth said Kouri Richins deleted her texts and phone logs with multiple people, including her former housecleaner, Carmen Lauber, who testified about obtaining illicit drugs at Kouri Richins' request in the weeks prior to Eric Richins' death. He argued that Kouri Richins was worried about being investigated and her deleted messages in the wake of her husband's death, as evidenced by searches on her phone such as, "can cops force you to do a lie detector test" and "can deleted text messages be retrieved from an iPhone."

Murder trial of Kouri Richins, Utah mom accused of fatally poisoning husband with fentanyl, underway

When the toxicology report showed that Eric Richins died from a fentanyl overdose, Bloodworth argued that Kouri Richins then needed to "explain" the presence of the drug -- and that she allegedly planned to do so by claiming she got them for her husband at his request.

Bloodworth argued that Eric Richins did not die of an accidental overdose, citing testimony from his friends and family who said he did not use illicit drugs. He also argued that he did not die by suicide and had "every reason to live" -- foremost being his three young sons.

"The evidence proves that Kouri Richins murdered, attempted to murder Eric Richins and that she committed two counts of insurance fraud and forgery," he said. "The evidence does not support any other explanation."

Defense argues case had 'confirmation bias'

Defense attorney Wendy Lewis argued during her closing that the case was impacted by confirmation bias from the start.

"Instead of looking at the evidence to determine what happened, the state has, they determined what happened, and then they found the evidence to support it," Lewis said.

Lewis argued that there was "no evidence" that there was fentanyl in Eric Richins' drink the night he died and that investigators failed to look into his recent trip to Mexico, which the defense had insinuated could have been the source of the fentanyl, or to test an old prescription bottle that was on his nightstand.

Lewis raised questions about the testimony of Lauber, who testified pursuant to several grants of immunity.

"Carmen Lauber was not able to tell you that she bought fentanyl. She agreed on the stand that it was the detectives that first put the word fentanyl in her mouth, in her head. She was told by detectives in this case that she bought fentanyl. 'Eric died of fentanyl. You bought drugs. You bought fentanyl,'" Lewis said. "She took that story and she ran with it because she had everything to lose."

David Jackson/Park Record/Pool - PHOTO: Defense attorney Wendy Lewis makes final arguments during the Kouri Richins trial at the Summit County Courthouse in Park City, Utah, March 16, 2026.

On the affair, Lewis said Kouri Richins broke things off with her boyfriend and they never went on the trip. On the phone searches, Lewis argued that Kouri Richins was worried because she was innocent.

"Of course she's worried. An innocent person would be worried. Anyone would be worried if they just found out that they are a suspect in a homicide investigation," Lewis said. "She would have been scared to death."

Lewis touched on Kouri Richin's money troubles, acknowledging that the house flipping business was "struggling," but argued that Eric Richins was "worth so much more to Kouri alive."

She claimed that Kouri Richins was being judged for how she grieved.

"They want you to look at a woman in the worst moment of her life and to judge her grief," Lewis said. "There is no wrong way to grieve."

Lewis told the jury that if they believe Kouri Richins "accidentally obtained fentanyl," and that Eric Richins then took those pills voluntarily and died, she argued that it is "not aggravated murder" and that they "must find Kouri Richins not guilty."

On the alleged insurance scheme, Lewis argued that the state has not proven beyond a reasonable doubt that there was any fraud or forgery.

"The state has not proven their case," Lewis said. "They don't have the evidence that Kouri Richins killed her husband, so instead, they have tried to show you as much evidence as they possibly can to convince you she's the sort of person who would."

Prior to delivering its closing argument, the defense submitted a motion for mistrial, alleging that the state's closing was full of "wild speculation," dehumanized Kouri Richins and inappropriately commented on her demeanor. The motion was denied.

Kouri Richins, Utah mom accused of fatally poisoning husband with fentanyl, asserts innocence in audio message

In his rebuttal, Bloodworth acknowledged that much of the evidence in the case is circumstantial.

"People do not video themselves poisoning their spouse," he said. "But circumstantial evidence is just as good as direct evidence."

Bloodworth argued that there was "plenty of proof to convict" Kouri Richins based on Lauber's corroborated testimony. He also argued that much of the defense's argument is based around trying to explain a letter found in Kouri Richins' jail cell that prosecutors said appears to outline testimony for her brother instructing him to say that her husband got fentanyl from Mexico.

"All the evidence in this case proves that Kouri Richins murdered her husband, the father of her three children, Eric Richins," he said. "There is no other rational explanation."

"And despite all the evidence, Kouri Richins doubles down and blames Eric," he continued.

Kouri Richins did not testify during the three-week trial and the defense called no witnesses.

During his testimony, the lead detective in the case said that Kouri Richins paid a ghostwriter for her children's book.

A month prior to her arrest in May 2023, the mom of three young sons appeared on a "Good Things Utah" segment on Salt Lake City ABC affiliate KTVX to promote the book. In the segment, Kouri Richins said her husband of nine years died "unexpectedly" and that his death "completely took us all by shock.

One of the art world's biggest modern mysteries may have just been solved.

A new report from Reuters claims to have once-and-for-all unmasked the elusive graffiti artist Banksy, who has been operating under the condition of complete anonymity since the early 1990s.

The investigation, published Friday, combs through and eventually sets aside some of the buzzier theories as to the "Girl with Balloon" artist's true identity. Is he the Massive Attack frontman Robert Del Naja? Or the street artist Thierry Guetta, also known as Mr. Brainwash, who was the subject of the Oscar-nominated documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop, which Banksy directed and also featured in — completely disguised, of course?

After nearly three decades of speculation, Reuters journalists Simon Gardner, James Pearson, and Blake Morrison claim "beyond dispute" that Banksy is a man named Robin Gunningham.

Entertainment Weekly did not immediately hear back from Pest Control Office, the agency the artist founded to sell his work and respond to press requests.

The final identification started with a clue from Banksy Captured, a 2019 memoir from Steve Lazarides, who managed the artist from the late 1990s through 2008. The year that book was published, Lazarides posted a photo from 2000 of an "aborted Banksy work" to his Instagram - a defaced Marc Jacobs billboard in New York City that was left incomplete after authorities allegedly arrested the artist.

Police documents and a court file relating to the arrest unearthed by Reuters repeatedly make reference to Gunningham - who signed his own name at the bottom of a written confession.

Though police sought to charge Gunningham with a felony, he was released and the charges were reduced to a misdemeanor after posting $1,500 bail, temporarily turning over his passport, and completing five days of community service.

Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.

Gunningham lived for a time at New York City's legendary Carlton Arms Hotel, which he listed as his primary residence on a bail form. He painted walls and even an entire room there in exchange for board, signing them "Robin Banks," shortened later to Banksy.

This isn't the first time Gunningham has been suspected as the real hand behind the mysterious graffiti artist. The Daily Mail pointed the finger at Gunningham in 2008, the same year he legally changed his name to David Jones. But suspicions persisted around figures like Del Naja, Guetta, and British politician Billy Gannon.

Banksy started out as a guerilla artist whose quickly rendered, stencil-like illustrations with an often highly political charge garnered him instant notoriety. He has made work in innocuous corners of major metropolitan cities like London and New York City, but has also become known for provocative illustrations left in conflict zones like Ukraine and the Palestinian West Bank.

His work is owned by the likes of Brad Pitt and Chris Martin.

One of his most iconic works, "Girl with Balloon," sold at a London auction in 2018 for $1.4 million. Minutes after the sale was finalized, the work publicly self-destroyed via a shredding device hidden inside the frame. Renamed "Love is in the Bin," the work sold three years later for a record $25.4 million.

49ers sign receiver Christian Kirk to a 1-year, $6 million contract, AP source says

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers have signed veteran receiver Christian Kirk to a one-year, $6 million contract to add needed depth at the position.

Associated Press

A person familiar with the deal said the sides reached the agreement on the deal on Monday. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the signing hadn't been announced by the team.

The move was first reported by The Schultz Report.

The 29-year-old Kirk is the second veteran receiver added by San Francisco so far this offseason with the team signing six-time Pro Bowler Mike Evans to a three-year, $42.5 million contract last week.

Kirk was a second-round pick by Arizona in 2018 and was one of the top earners in free agency in 2022 when he left to sign a four-year, $72 million contract with Jacksonville that offseason..

After setting career highs with 84 catches for 1,108 yards and eight TDs in his first season with the Jaguars, Kirk's production has dwindled in recent years while he has been hampered by injuries.

Kirk has missed 18 games the past three seasons with Jacksonville and Houston with injuries to his groin, collarbone and hamstring.

Jacksonville traded Kirk to Houston last offseason and he had 28 catches for a career-low 239 yards and one TD in his only season with the Texans. Kirk's 8.5 yards per reception ranked 89th among 94 wide receivers last season with at least 25 catches.

Kirk showed flashes of his old form in the playoffs when he had eight catches for 144 yards and a touchdown in a wild-card win over Pittsburgh and caught another TD pass the following week in a loss to New England.

The addition of Kirk gives the Niners another option at receiver. Evans was signed to start alongside Ricky Pearsall, who got off to a fast start in his second season in 2025 before being slowed by injuries. San Francisco also has veteran Demarcus Robinson and unproven recent draft picks Jacob Cowing and Jordan Watkins.

The team is planning to cut ties with formerNo. 1 receiver Brandon Aiyukat some point this offseason either by a trade or a release. Aiyuk was placed on the reserve/left squad list late last season after he stopped showing up to rehabilitate a knee injury that had sidelined him since October 2024. The Niners earlier voided about $27 million in guaranteed money that Aiyuk was owed this season.

Aaron Judge pumps up USA at WBC, Nolan McLean tries to 'finish this thing'

MIAMI - The boys were pumped up in the Team USA clubhouse Sunday evening, yelling, fist-pumping, back-slapping and absolutely exhilarated.

USA TODAY Sports

They had just knocked off powerful Dominican Republic in the semifinals, advancing to the championship game Tuesday night (8 p.m. ET, FOX) against the winner of the Italy-Venezuela game, and are so close to the gold medal now that they could almost touch it.

USA captain Aaron Judge stood up in front of the room, and told them how proud he was with their complete team effort. He pointed everyone out from starter Paul Skenes to closer Mason Miller and the bullpen, to shortstop Bobby Witt, to the home runs by Gunnar Henderson and Roman Anthony.

Go ahead and enjoy the victory, Judge told them, but once they leave the clubhouse, it was time to focus on the business at hand.

They have one more game.

Win, and everything they've worked hard for, beginning in Phoenix four days, 10 nights in Houston, and now in Miami, will be all worth it. It has been their dream to be standing on the championship stage in center field Tuesday, with World Baseball Classic officials adorning them with gold medals, with a sellout crowd cheering.

Dominican Republic designated hitter Junior Caminero celebrates with his teammates after hitting a home run in the second inning. Dominican Republic pitcher Luis Severino reacts during the second inning. United States starting pitcher Paul Skenes delivers against the Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic starting pitcher Luis Severino delivers against the United States. United States manager Mark DeRosa and Dominican Republic manager Albert Pujols meet prior to the World Baseball Classic semifinal game at loanDepot Park in Miami.

Best moments as Team USA takes on Dominican Republic in WBC semifinal

Lose the championship game, and everything is ruined.

It has always been gold medal or bust, and now, being ever so close, it's no time to let up now.

"He was like, "Hey, we knew that was a big game,''' manager Mark DeRosa told USA TODAY Sports. "Certainly, the whole world was watching knowing it was going to be a draining, epic battle, and that it was.

"But he said, 'Let's set the focus back. We still got work to do.' "

Judge hasn't spoken after every game, but this time, he felt it was necessary. The pain of losing to Italy during pool play in Houston, after knocking off powerful Mexico, was a scary reminder how their fate can turn dramatically turn.

"He gave a great speech,'' USA bullpen coach David Ross said. "He said, "Keep the focus on one more. Great win, but we got one left.'

"He went around and said, "Skenes, you did a hell of a job. Bullpen. Young guys, way to swing it.' Just very positive.

"But at the end, he brought it back to, "We got one more, let's finish this thing.'''

Team USA will turn to 24-year-old Mets rookie Nolan McLean to finish it off.

McLean was the losing pitcher in that 8-6 loss to Italy, striking out the side in the first inning, but then giving up two homers in a span of three at-bats in the second inning, and walked two more batters in the third. He was yanked after just three innings.

Nolan McLean pitches for Team USA against Team Italy.

There were no excuses, McLean said, after nearly missing the WBC completely when he was diagnosed with vertigo-like symptoms in Mets camp. He didn't join Team USA until it reached Houston.

Now, he says he feels 100%, will be good to go for 65 to 70 pitches, and with the way USA's bullpen has pitched lights out, just pitching four strong innings might be all that's needed.

"I guess as far as the vertigo stuff, I don't know if there's an actual test to know if I had for sure vertigo,'' McLean said. "I was definitely dizzy. … I had a stretch there where I didn't feel like myself, but I told my wife, if I can get on a plane, I'm going to play…

"I'm fully past all that now and I'm feeling good.''

And a healthy McLean is all DeRosa needs, believing that McLean will be a future star in this game.

"I think he's just built for this,'' DeRosa said. "His mindset, his stuff, his want, all of that kind of led to him being a part of this team.''

McLean, who says he's having the time of his life with the experience, should have a few more familiar faces in the stands cheering him Tuesday. Several of his Mets teammates, like Christian Scott, promised they would make the two-hour drive from their spring training camp in Port St. Lucie to see him.

"Putting U.S. on your chest and going out there and competing,'' McLean said, "obviously means the world. As a competitor and as someone, if you work your whole life at something, you want to be put in these spots. So it's just kind of a dream come true to be able to get the ball in such a big moment, and it's something I want to do.

"I mean, I'm just super pumped to get the ball and go out there and compete. All I ever want to do is win.''
