The Toronto Blue Jays made another big splash coming off their first World Series trip in more than three decades, agreeing to a deal with Japanese slugger Kazuma Okamoto, according to multiple reports.

Okamoto, 29, hit 30 home runs every year from 2018-23, clubbing a career-high 41 in 2023 for the Yomiuri Giants. A right-handed hitter, Okamoto has split time between first and third base in recent seasons, also getting some reps in the outfield.

Okamoto is the latest acquisition in a busy offseason for the Blue Jays, who have already signed pitchers Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce and Tyler Rogers since losing in seven games to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 Fall Classic.

The Japanese import could become Toronto's primary third baseman with Addison Barger presently penciled in at the hot corner. While Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is entrenched at first base for the Blue Jays, Okamoto could also provide the $500 million man with some defensive days off.

MILAN (AP) — Juventus forward Jonathan David had a penalty saved as the Bianconeri were held to a surprise 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Lecce in Serie A on Saturday.

Weston McKennie canceled out Lameck Banda's shock opener for Lecce and David had a chance to give his side the lead in the 66th minute but his poor penalty kick was saved by Wladimiro Falcone.

The point put Juventus level with fourth-placed Roma, which was playing at Atalanta later and looking to join Inter Milan in second spot in Serie A.

Lecce inched five points above the relegation zone.

Earlier, Como moved to within three points of the top four after a Lucas Da Cunha penalty gave them a 1-0 win over Udinese.

There was a minute's silence before kickoff in every game in Serie A this weekend for the victims of the fire at a Crans-Montana bar.

Juventus almost took an early lead but Falcone managed to get a hand to David's header and the ball rolled across the line, hit the post and rebounded back into the grateful goalkeeper's hands.

Juventus dominated and had numerous chances but it was Lecce which took a surprise lead in first-half stoppage time.

There seemed little danger when Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso rolled a ball towards teammate Pierre Kalulu but it was underpowered and Banda rushed in to intercept before cutting past two opponents and firing into the near corner.

Juventus leveled almost immediately after the break as McKennie touched on a cross and rushed into the area, right in front of goal, to control the return pass from Kenan Yıldız and fire home.

It was McKennie's first goal in Serie A this season although the United States international has scored two in the Champions League.

Juventus had a chance to take the lead when it was awarded a penalty after Lecce midfielder Mohamed Kaba blocked David's effort with his arm. David stepped up but the Canada forward's penalty was central and weak and was saved by Falcone.

David almost atoned for his error late on but his fierce strike was brilliantly saved by Falcone. Yıldız also hit the post deep in stoppage time as Juventus laid siege to the goal.

Relegation battle

Genoa drew with Pisa 1-1 in a relegation tussle that will please neither side.

Pisa midfielder Mehdi Leris equalized in chaotic circumstances at the end of the first half to cancel out Lorenzo Colombo's screamer.

Genoa, which occupies the last position of safety, was left three points ahead of Pisa and Hellas Verona, which has played two matches fewer than those two teams.

Parma was six points above the drop zone after drawing at mid-table Sassuolo 1-1.

NBA bans Magic's Jalen Suggs from wearing headband on neck

The NBA and its uniform police have another suspect in custody.

This time, it's about headbands.

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs has been wearing a headband around his neck to start games and his explanation for doing so goes back to playing high school football before he ended up playing basketball for Gonzaga.

Suggs, who is in his fifth NBA season, said he doesn't have an explanation for the unique fashion statement.

"I wear it on my neck and once I feel into the game, into the flow I put it on my head and we rock," Suggs said earlier this season. "That's just me being J-Suggs."

"Really, it originates as football drip—that's where it stems from. But I don't know, there really isn't much else to it. I wear it on my neck, and once I get into the game, into the flow, I put it on my head and we rock."

During the television broadcast of Orlando's game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday, it was explained that the NBA told Suggs he begin the game with the headband situated where it was initially intended – and not as a choker around his neck.

The last time the NBA had an issue with headgear was the 2019-2020 season, when it banned the "ninja-style" headbands, citing safety concerns about their length and how they were tied.

Suggs is averaging 15 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game this season for Orlando.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Sarah Strong had 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals and Azzi Fudd added 16 points as top-ranked UConn overcame a slow shooting start to roll to an 84-48 win over Seton Hall on Saturday.

It was UConn's (15-0, 6-0 Big East) 31st win in a row. The Huskies also extended their Big East regular-season winning streak to 44 games, with the last 42 wins by at least 10 points.

Allie Ziebell made four 3-pointers for 12 points off the bench. KK Arnold returned for UConn after missing the previous game with a nasal fracture. She finished with five points, five assists and five steals in 20 minutes. UConn finished with 20 steals for its fourth game with at least that many this season.

Jordana Codio had 12 points — as well as 10 turnovers — and Mariana Valenzuela had eight points for Seton Hall (10-5, 4-2), which was playing without third-leading scorer Jada Eads. Savannah Catalon had nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter.

UConn missed 13 of its first 17 shots, including six in a row at one point. But Ziebell and Fudd hit 3-pointers and Strong added a long jumper as the Huskies ended the first quarter on an 8-0 run to take a 19-11 lead heading into the second quarter.

Fudd had nine points in the first quarter and Strong had eight points in the second quarter to give the Huskies a 38-18 halftime lead. The Huskies had a 20-0 run in the third quarter on the way to winning their 42nd in a row against Seton Hall.

Michael Dorn, the man who defined Worf for Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, is now helping a key cast member of the upcoming Star Trek: Starfleet Academy learn how to emote under layers of prosthetics and the weight of Klingon tradition.

Karim Diané, who plays the Klingon cadet Jay-Den Kraag, said he got a FaceTime session with Dorn right before his first day in makeup. "It was really dope to be able to talk to the Klingon, and then go and become a Klingon for the first time," Diané shared, mentioning Dorn's encouragement and practical advice helped calm his nerves before long hours under silicone.

What makes Dorn's involvement so meaningful (beyond the inherent cool factor of a Trek legend coaching new cast members) is how intimately he understands this performance challenge. In interviews over the years, Dorn has spoken candidly about the physical and emotional demands of playing Worf, including the heavy makeup that was "pretty tough" at first because of all the glue and time in the chair.

Related: 'Star Trek' Alters Iconic Alien Race and Fans Are Not Happy

Dorn once reflected on his own process by comparing auditions to muscles you have to work: you "just get better and better" by doing it and preparing yourself so that you're not afraid of the moment but ready for it. That focus and persistence are the same qualities he's now passing along to actors stepping into complex alien roles.

There's a rich history here, too. Like the new cadet Jay-Den Kraag, Dorn's Worf wasn't an average Klingon; Dorn's performance helped shift the portrayal of the species away from one-dimensional antagonists into a culture with honor, conflict, and depth. It's not hard to imagine a similar bridge being built in those conversations between Dorn and Diané, linking Trek's 1990s peak and its new frontier in 2026.

Fans are impressed with Dorn's mentorship. 'I used to be a scare actor and did 3 hours daily in the makeup chair for my prosthetics,' one fan commented. 'It's no joke how hard it is getting it applied and then spending the day working in it.' Another chimed in 'Talked to THE Klingon, you're (expletive) right.'

Considering what it must be like to perform under the pressure of both layers of latex and increasing expectations from fans, this generosity from Dorn is touching. Klingons might typically be angry, but the actors who portray them can be overwhelmingly kind.

The Biebers have been sharing a lot of pictures from their holiday celebrations.

On Friday, Justin Bieber posted a new carousel of photos with his son, Jack Blues Bieber. They appeared to be sharing an iconic father and son moment, with the pop star dangling a small fish from a fishing line for Jack to take a look at. In another photo, it seemed liked Jack was running off down the boardwalk, with water on one side of him.

In the photos, both Justin and Jack are wearing colorful graphic prints sweatshirts. Justin has on baggy denim shorts and Jack is barefoot with black leggings. Justin smiles proudly at the camera before turning back to his son.

Justin and his wife, Hailey Bieber, shared a few peeks into their cozy holiday celebrations together. Last week, Justin shared photos of Jack dressed in a Santa Claus hat and red shirt on their private plane, as well as a look at a living room decorated with a Christmas tree and stockings.

He also posted a romantic selfie with Hailey in which they are both bundled up for cold weather and smiling at the camera. In the caption, the SWAG singer wrote, "MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE BIEBERS 🫂🎅❤️"

In a November interview with GQ, Hailey talked about how she and Justin manage Jack's privacy. Though they frequently share photos, they prefer to disguise his face. Both of them are familiar with living in the spotlight and want to consider how Jack will feel as he gets older.

"We're just taking it a day at a time," she explained. "We both feel very protective of our son, and I don't think that's ever going to change, but our life is our life, and it is really public, so I think we're just going to cross every bridge that we need to when we get there. But as of right now, I feel really comfortable about the way we are sharing things and not sharing things."

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links."

According to Dax Shepard, he and Kristen Bell had a "bonkers fun" New Year's Eve—and we can certainly see why. In photos shared to both of their Instagrams, the couple was all laughs and smiles on the holiday, celebrating 2026 with some cozy family time.

The two, who got married back in 2013, were bundled up at their night's highly-decorated festivities, seen amidst oversize flowers, floating umbrellas, and vines. For the occasion, Bell wrapped her all-black ensemble with a gray blanket and grabbed a leather handbag, while Shepard wore light-wash jeans, classic Vans, and an embroidered sweater with the perfect message going into the new year: "don't hide your magic."

On Bell's page, the Nobody Wants This actress included a few images of their children, carefully shot from behind or in motion to respect their privacy. The Hollywood couple has kept their daughters—12-year-old Lincoln and 11-year-old Delta—off of their social media pages for years now, strategically placing emojis to cover their faces. Yesterday, Bell did just that, adding hearts to a photo of the girls, in matching striped shirts and berets, with their father on his birthday.

Instagram/@kristenanniebell

"We're laughing because our daughter had all four fingers over all three lenses and yet somehow it took! May all of 2026 go this way," Shepard shared in his own photo dump, which included a couple shots from a boat ride with their friends. For the daytime excursion, Bell blocked the sun with a wide-brimmed straw hat, and kept warm with a white knit sweater.

"Love love loved this adventure!!!" Bell commented.
