'Wuthering Heights' (2026)

Directed by Promising Young Woman and Saltburn filmmaker Emerald Fennell, Wuthering Heights reimagines Emily Brontë’s classic tale of obsessive love in line with Fennell's teenage interpretation from decades ago. The story follows Heathcliff (Elordi) and Catherine (Robbie), who meet in childhood and form a strong, intense bond that becomes shaped by class division, emotional volatility and secret love. But when Catherine's family is on the brink of destitution, she chooses to marry rich to save them — and forgo a life with Heathcliff, which throws both of them headlong into devastating emotional ruin.

Though Wuthering Heights divided critics upon release, it is undeniably a unique and affecting retelling of a story told many times. What makes Fennell's adaptation compelling is how it leans into mood as much as narrative, and uses atmosphere to heighten the story’s emotional extremity. Fennell embraces the darker impulses of Brontë’s novel with striking and stark cinematography and a haunting score by Charli XCX, furthered by rich performances and a stark visual palette. The film is less of a traditional love story and more of a study in emotional extremity.

'Walk the Line' (2005)

Walk the Line traces the rise of country music icon Johnny Cash (Joaquin Phoenix), from his troubled childhood in Arkansas to his emergence as one of the most influential voices in American music. Directed by James Mangold (Logan, A Complete Unknown), Walk the Line charts Cash's early career, his struggles with addiction and his complicated relationship with fellow musician June Carter Cash (Reese Witherspoon). Ultimately, June's presence in Cash's life becomes central to both his personal and professional turning points. But as Cash's fame increases, so do his internal struggles, which simultaneously pull him between self-destruction and the chance for stability.

Anchored by a truly transformative performance from Phoenix — which wouldn't be quite what it is without a standout turn from Witherspoon — Walk the Line succeeds the most by leaning heavily into emotional honesty, rather than staying meticulously hewn to real-life facts. In addition to capturing Cash's career trajectory, Walk the Line paints a portrait of addiction as it informs artistic identity, success and romantic relationships. While the music is an obvious highlight, it's the raw performances that really make the movie feel powerful.

'The Florida Project' (2017)

The Florida Project follows six-year-old Moonee (Brooklynn Prince) and her young, single mother, Halley (Bria Vinaite), who struggle to live day-to-day in a budget motel in Florida, just on the outskirts of Walt Disney World. Moonee's childlike wonder allows her and her friends to treat the motel grounds as a sprawling playground where they can go on adventures, while Halley and the other guardians struggle to maintain stability, relying on increasingly desperate means to keep them afloat. With the help of the kind motel manager (Willem Dafoe), Moonnee and her friends are shielded from the harsh reality of the adult world.

39 Best Movies on HBO Max Right Now (April 2026): ‘Marty Supreme’ and More

The Florida Project successfully balances warmth with unease, capturing moments of joy without losing sight of the instability that guides the lives of its characters. Prince delivers an astonishing breakout performance for such a young child, and Dafoe brings quiet, steadying compassion as the motel manager trying to hold his fragile community together. The film is tender without being overly mawkish; highly observational, yet simultaneously empathetic. Directed by Anora's Sean Baker, The Florida Project utilizes vibrant, slice-of-life storytelling, a gorgeous pastel color palette and exceptional authenticity to create a rich film about the struggles of ordinary people.

Italian wunderkind Kimi Antonelli won from the pole for the third consecutive race, claiming the Miami Grand Prix to tighten his hold on the Formula 1 drivers' championship lead with a strong performance Sunday in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Antonelli, 19, lost the lead to Charles Leclerc on the first lap, quickly regained it and then had to tussle with Lando Norris before retaking the front for good when Norris pitted from the lead around Lap 28.

After winning the Chinese and Japanese Grand Prix back-to-back, Antonelli earned his third career win and further boosted Mercedes atop the manufacturers' standings. He's the third driver in F1 history to earn his first three wins in consecutive races, joining Damon Hill and Mika Hakkinen.

McLaren occupied the rest of the podium, as Norris and Oscar Piastri placed second and third.

Leclerc had a dramatic spin during the last lap and, though he avoided the wall, he fell from fourth to sixth as George Russell and Max Verstappen passed him to move into the top five.

Coincidentally, Leclerc benefited from a different spin on the opening lap. Verstappen, who gridded second, spun 360 degrees in the middle of the track while Leclerc moved past Antonelli from third to first. Verstappen was able to recover in short order as he earned his best finish this season.

The race was moved up by three hours to 1 p.m. local time to avoid thunderstorms in the forecast.

The Way Home may be coming to an end, but not before a journey through time introduces viewers to a few new faces.

The Hallmark Channel series is traveling back to 1920s Port Haven during its upcoming fourth and final season, as mysteries are unearthed and lingering questions about the past find a way to haunt the present-day Landry clan.

“It’s a world of decadent deco glitz and dark, dangerous shadows, where flappers and bootleggers run rampant ... and a very special member of the Landry family tree is waiting,” executive producers Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke told PEOPLE in March 2026.

Joining the cast are two faces familiar to Hallmark fans, Gabriel Hogan and Dan Jeannotte, as well as newcomers Bianca Melchior and Kelsey Falconer. The latest installment, which premiered April 19, reveals how these characters’ stories intertwine with their relatives.

Here’s everything to know about the new cast members who have joined The Way Home season 4.

01 of 04

Bianca Melchior

Prior to the season 4 premiere, newcomer Melchior was announced to be originating the role of a young Fern Landry — Colton’s grandmother and Kat’s great grandmother.

Taking fans back to days of the Roaring Twenties in 1925, young Fern can be seen meeting Kat at the pond in a teaser clip previewing the new season. Together, the pair dive deep into the culture of the time, showing off their flapper fashion as they hit the party scene.

“We are so thrilled to have a new roster of characters in that era that we’re going to come to meet, namely Bianca Melchior, who plays Fern in that era. She is amazing, and I can’t wait for everyone to meet her,” Clarke told TV Insider.

While not much is known yet about what role young Fern plays in the lives of her relatives, fans are speculating that she may be the one who originates Kat’s “Kitty Kat” nickname.

Gabriel Hogan

Hallmark’s Romance at Hope Ranch star Hogan will be taking on the role of Grayson Goodwin in the new season, portraying a descendant of one of Port Haven’s founders, Cyrus Goodwin, and an ancestor of Casey Goodwin.

Dan Jeannotte

Hallmark fans will recognize new cast member Jeannotte from The Good Witch as well as films like A Royal Setting and Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway.

Jeannotte will take on the role of Port Haven’s new temperance inspector, Cliff Kane, who he has referred to as a “prohibition cop” in the 1920s storyline.

During an appearance on the Pop Culture Planet podcast in March 2026, Jeannotte revealed that his character was “intertwined with the Landry family” and called the season “romantic, exciting [and] dangerous.”

The actor also noted that taking on the role was “so fun ... not just because of the costume and the era” but because of the “wonderfully warm” set.

“When you come into a show that’s been up and running for a while, you don’t know what it’ll be like to come in," he continued. "Everybody’s dynamic is established already but this was one of the friendliest sets that I’ve been on. It was so lovely. Everybody was so welcoming."

04 of 04

Kelsey Falconer

Rounding out the new cast members is Falconer, who has previously appeared on shows like Doc and Fargo. Her upcoming role on The Way Home has been shrouded in mystery — until recently.

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted Falconer in trailers for The Way Home, where she can be seen in a photo alongside a younger Del and Colton Landry.

Falconer also appears in a brief clip standing behind a register while motioning someone to be quiet, although who she’s looking at is not clear.

Ahead of season 4's episode 3, Falconer revealed on Instagram that she is playing Tessa.

Jane Seymour recently reflected on her memorable frizzy hairstyle from the 1981 Oscars

The East of Eden actress shared how the look unexpectedly sparked a trend despite mixed reactions at the time

Today, the 75-year-old says she continues to draw inspiration from her past wardrobe and enjoys shopping in her own closet as styles return

Jane Seymour has long been admired for her elegance on and off screen, from her breakout as a Bond girl in Live and Let Die to her enduring role on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

Known for her classic beauty and versatility, she became just as memorable for her fashion choices as for her performances. In the 1980s especially, her style leaned into the decade’s love of drama — bold silhouettes, statement shoulders and, most notably, big hair. During a recent interview with Woman’s World, Seymour reflected on one unforgettable beauty moment that took on a life of its own.

“I’ve always had long hair, and it used to be so long I could sit on it, but I can’t believe that I ever frizzed my hair out!” she told the outlet. “I accidentally popularized that look when I presented at the Oscars in 1981.”

That moment, however, didn’t come without criticism, and Seymour still remembers the sharp commentary that came as a result of the exaggerated hairstyle.

“My hairdresser decided to do the big hair, and a critic said that I looked like ‘50 lbs. of mildewed mattress stuffing,’” the 75-year-old actress recalled. “I’ve never forgotten that.”

Yet, despite the harsh jab, the look proved more influential than anyone expected. In fact, what seemed like a misstep quickly turned into inspiration within the fashion world, and shortly after the Oscars, Ralph Lauren contacted Seymour’s team to ask who did her hair.

“I didn’t want to throw my hairdresser under the bus, so at first I said I did it myself, but they were actually hoping they could copy the look for their new fashion show,” she revealed. “I gave them my hairdresser’s contact and that started a trend, sadly.”

Nevertheless, over the decades, Seymour’s style evolution has remained part of her appeal, and today, she admits she still finds herself drawn to the fashion of her past.

“I like to shop in my own closet,” she shared. “I was going to toss all my clothes with big shoulder pads, but I ended up keeping them, because everything comes back. I always say not to throw anything away.”

That instinct to hold onto her wardrobe has paid off as trends resurface, allowing the actress to revisit and reinterpret earlier looks.

“I’ve recently been on the red carpet wearing things that I first wore 20 or 30 years ago, and they’re all back in style now,” Seymour told Woman’s World. “I look at what’s in style and see how I can put a look together with clothes I already have. It’s like my sport.”

LeBron James carried the Los Angeles Lakers past the Houston Rockets in the first-round of the 2026 NBA playoffs. On Friday, James' 28-point game gave the Lakers enough in Game 6 to lead them to the Western Conference semifinals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

On defense, the Lakers increased their level of intensity, which led them to a 98-78 win. In the first half, LA had a 49-31 lead, which helped them take advantage of Houston to start the second half. However, the Rockets were able to match them on the defensive end.

Fortunately for the Lakers, they had a betting night shooting the basketball. They shot 12-for-28 from deep throughout the game, while the Rockets went 5-for-28.

JJ Redick Spoke Highly of LeBron James

Although it was a team effort, head coach JJ Redick gave the credit to James for taking the lead. The 18-point first-half performance he had encouraged the rest of the team to be aggressive on offense. During Redick's time speaking in front of the media, he spoke highly of the four-time champion for having the "greatest career."

According to Redick, he and the rest of the coaching staff entered the locker room, and the players turned off the lights.

"Literally every single guy was going bahhh, bahhh (goat noises)," Redick said. " It speaks to his greatness. To me, he’s had the greatest career of any NBA player. You can argue all you want, I don't really care postulate on who's the greatest of all time. He’s one of, if not the greatest of all time."

"For him to do it again and again, to answer the bell again. It's really baffling in some ways. The leadership aspect that I talked about -- he just has this ability to set the tone for the entire group. And he did that again tonight and our guys responded. I'm really happy for him."

James' teammate, Austin Reaves, revealed to the media that he said something after the game. According to Reaves, he could not believe what he saw from the Lakers star and called him "insane."

"Age, whatever, he’s been in the league for 23 years, the way he controls the game? It’s impressive. I don’t think you can say with words how special (it is). I’m happy I don’t have to play against him," Reaves said.

The Lakers will lean on James again in the second round of the postseason against the Thunder.

Evgeni Malkin wants to run it back one last time in Pittsburgh. Whether he will is anyone's guess

PITTSBURGH (AP) — ThePittsburgh Penguinstook a significant step forward this season, returning to the playoffs after a three-year absence.

Penguins Flyers Hockey

To go deeper than the first round will require another leap. WhetherEvgeni Malkingets a chance to be a part of it is anyone's guess. Malkin's included.

The Russian star, who is set to become a free agent in July, would like to return to the Penguins for a 21st and almost certainly final season. Yet Malkin also understands general manager Kyle Dubas is trying to build a roster that will make Pittsburgh a perennial contender, and having a future Hall of Fame forward who will turn 40 in August might not be part of that plan.

“It’s not easy for Kyle, maybe he wants new blood here,” Malkin said on Friday, less than 48 hours after the Penguins' bounce-back season ended witha Game 6 lossto rival Philadelphia. “I understand business. I understand he wants maybe new team, see new faces here.”

Dubas, who has spent months being polite but noncommittal while discussing Malkin's status, enters the offseason with over $45 million in salary cap space. Whether he wants to spend a portion of it on a three-time Stanley Cup winner who is beloved in Pittsburgh but also missed 20 games this season due to injury is uncertain.

What's not is Malkin's commitment to playing next year, even if it's outside of the only NHL organization he's ever known. Malkin finished with 61 points in 56 games after moving from center to wing. He added a pair of goals against the Flyers in a season he described as “not bad."

“It’s a little bit tough,” he said. “But I feel I can play next year for sure.”

Malkin, captain Sidney Crosbyand defensemanKris Letangjust finished up their 20th season together, the longest run by a trio of teammates in major North American professional sports. Letang is under contract for two more seasons, while Crosby is eligible for another contract extension this summer.

Crosby, the only player in NHL history to average a point a game in 21 straight years, made it very clear his preference would be to run it back one last time with his good friend.

“For as long as (Malkin's) played here I think he’s been part of setting the standard,” Crosby said. "And just on top of all the experiences we’ve shared, you build that belief and trust and bond and that’s something you’ve had over the course of time.”

Malkin's future is hardly the only uncertainty the Penguins face. While first-year coachDan Muse— a finalist for the Jack Adams award as the NHL's Coach of the Year — won raves for his positivity and meticulous preparation, the league's third-highest scoring team also sputtered while falling into a 3-0 hole to the Flyers.

Though Pittsburgh carried play as the series wore on, it was far too late as Philadelphia's younger legs won out in the end, though Crosby doesn't want the bitterness of the way the season ended to blot out all the good things that came along the way.

“A lot of guys had career years, I think that’s a reflection of guys’ individual play but also as a group," he said.

The list of players who enjoyed breakout seasons included forward Anthony Mantha, who poured in a career-best 33 goals, and forward Egor Chinakov, who had 18 goals in 43 games after being acquired from Columbus in December.

Mantha will be a free agent and figures to be in line for a raise over the $2.5 million he made this season. Chinakov is a restricted free agent, and Pittsburgh would likely match any offer the 25-year-old would receive.

Rookie Ben Kindel, all of 18, scored 17 goals and massive 6-foot-7 forward Elmer Soderblom made an impact after arriving from Detroit.

At the NHL level, the goalie situation is unsettled.Stuart Skinner, brought over in a swap with Edmonton in December, will be a free agent and Arturs Silovs — who backstopped both of Pittsburgh's playoff wins and nearly stole Game 6 in Philadelphia — will be a restricted free agent.

The Penguins have 22-year-old Sergei Murashov waiting in the wings and he will almost certainly receive every opportunity to claim the starting job when training camp begins in September.

It will be four long and likely eventful months until Pittsburgh reconvenes. The club showed tangible proof this year that Dubas' painstaking organizational overhaul is starting to pay off.

The gap between the Penguins and the teams that will take the ice when the second round begins next week is smaller than it was a year ago. Yet it still exists.

Malkin would like to be part of the process of narrowing it even further alongside the two men who have become like brothers.

“I hope we play together one more year,” he said. "If not, we have great 20 years together and never forget.”
