Pons aims to share personal stories and behind-the-scenes moments with cultural icons and rising stars in about as relaxed a setting as you can get — in pajamas in bed

Lele Pons is inviting you to a virtual slumber party. On June 15, iHeartMedia's My Cultura Podcast Network announced that the social media star — who many consider to be one of the internet's first influencers — is launching her very own podcast, called Suite 305 with Lele Pons (the title is a nod to the Miami area code and the content creator's own roots).

Pons, whose full name is Eleanora Pons, is one of the most recognized content creators in the U.S., rising to fame on the now-defunct short-form video platform, Vine.PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the trailer for the upcoming series, which features Lele seated on a hotel bed, as she welcomes in guests, including Shakira, Paris Hilton, cast members from Bridgerton and more.According to a press release, the series will feature Pons as she invites "cultural movers and shakers, from global icons to rising stars" to "kick back" in their pajamas and chat.Pons' vibrant personality shines through in the trailer as she chats with attendees, who perch with her on the edge of a bed."You have surprises?" she asks Shakira at one point during the clip, to which the "Waka Waka" singer replies, "Many surprises."In another clip, Pons chats with Hilton, sitting between a mix of pink pillows, including one that says simply "Iconic," as she exclaims, "I found out I was pregnant, going to Paris's event."

At other points, the Latina creator gabs with her guests in Spanish — and teaches those less fluent a few favorite phrases of her own."I'm so excited to have my friends on this podcast and share the stories behind our friendships," said Pons."So many people see us together online, but they don't know how we met or everything we've been through together. I can't wait to show a more personal and private side of each of them and have real conversations you've never heard before.""This is Suite 305," Pons says at the end of the trailer, as she enters the hotel room. "Here, oversharing is encouraged."Pons was just a teenager in high school in Miami when she started investing her time and energy into building a future on Vine.

"I had a lot of videos because I never skipped a day. I was obsessed with posting every day," Pons, now 29, told PEOPLE exclusively in January 2025. "[Vine] was my first social media. I was not on Facebook, YouTube. I was on nothing."While Pons rarely spoke in her clips, she was intent on squeezing physical comedy into each clip, managing to get laughs while sticking to Vine's six-second length limit on videos. The Venezuelan creator became the first Vine star to hit a billion views, or "loops," as they were dubbed on the app.Pons emerged as one of the earlier major teen creators, so she commanded the younger demographic, and has managed to maintain her relevance long after Vine died in 2017, commanding audiences on Instagram and TikTok.Cultura shows are distributed by iHeartPodcasts. Listeners can find the full catalog of My Cultura podcasts here. "Suite 305 with Lele Pons" is distributed by iHeartPodcasts and is available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard beginning June 23, 2026.

- Seth Rogen recently shared an update on his relationship with James Franco.

- The former collaborators and friends have not worked together since 2018, when Franco was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.

- Rogen, who rarely comments on his former friend, has said that he has no intention of working with Franco again.

Seth Rogen has not reconnected with his old pal, James Franco and doesn't plan to change that anytime soon.

In the five years since Franco settled a sexual misconduct lawsuit from former students of his acting school, Rogen says nothing has changed when it comes to where they stand today — both personally and professionally.

Asked about the nature of their relationship during a recent sit-down with *The New York Times*, Rogen hesitated to say too much.

"I honestly think the nuance of it is too personal for me to get into right now. It is a very personal thing," he told the outlet. "There’s the public-facing side of it, which I’ve spoken about, and I have the same stance publicly that I’ve had, and I think the proof is in the pudding — I have not worked with him in years. But the personal side of it is just so nuanced, and it involves people that I don’t know if I should be dragging into this."

Rogen then clarified that "nothing has changed" since he last discussed the subject.

"I haven’t worked with him in a really long time and I have no plans to," he added. "I haven’t talked to him in a long time."

For decades, Franco and Rogen were friends and longtime collaborators after getting their start on the short-lived cult TV series, *Freaks and Geeks*. Though it only lasted a season, the comedy marked a breakthrough role for the two performers — Rogen, 16, and Franco, 21 — and their partnership led to films such as *Pineapple Express**, This Is the End*, and *Sausage Party*.

Their final collaboration was 2017's *The Disaster Artist*, a dramatization of the making of *The Room*, for which Franco won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, for his performance as Tommy Wiseau. In solidarity with the MeToo movement, he wore a Time's Up pin to the 2018 ceremony, prompting five women to come forward and accuse him of sexual misconduct. Two of those women — Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal — were former students of Franco's now defunct acting school Studio 4, and went on to launch a sexual misconduct lawsuit against the actor.

After a tumultuous few years, the lawsuit was settled in 2021. That same year, Rogen stated that he had no intention of working with Franco again, in the wake of the allegations.

"I despise abuse and harassment, and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that," Rogen told *The London Times*," adding, "I do not plan to [work with Franco again] right now."

He has repeated similar sentiments in the years since, rarely speaking more in depth on the subject.

In 2024, Franco publicly lamented the end of their friendship, confirming that they had fallen out of contact.

"I haven’t talked to Seth. I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over," he said. "And not for lack of trying. I’ve told him how much he’s meant to me."

A year later, asked how it felt to "have something so personal become so public," Rogen claimed he didn't even know Franco had spoken publicly about their relationship.

"Honestly, I absorb so little media that it really wasn’t on my radar," he told *Esquire* in 2025, declining to comment further on the matter.

*Scooby-Doo* has been a beloved animated franchise since the original series premiered in 1969, but it took until 2002 for a live-action version to be produced. While not exactly a hit with critics, audiences flocked to see the adventures of the Scooby gang investigate mysterious events at an island resort. Over the years, the film has developed cult classic status for its subversive tone (credited to screenwriter James Gunn) and nostalgic early-2000s aesthetic.

One aspect of the film that fans and critics can agree on is the casting. Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Linda Cardellini as Velma, and Matthew Lillard as Shaggy each captured their characters' idiosyncratic quirks, particularly Lillard, who eventually became the main voice of Shaggy for the franchise moving forward. This core gang of four got back together for the 2004 sequel, *Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed*.

A live-action *Scooby-Doo* series is coming to Netflix with an all-new cast announced for 2027, so we're looking at the cast of 2002's *Scooby-Doo* (and its sequel) and solving the mystery of where they are now.

Freddie Prinze Jr. took on the role of the blond ascot-wearing leader of the Mystery, Inc. gang in both *Scooby-Doo *movies. However, later he openly expressed his regret for filming them.

“There was too much bait-and-switch on the first one. The studio was not honest with me in any way, shape or form. They were not straightforward,” Prinze Jr. told TooFab in March 2023. "I've been on two jobs where I've had regret [after] doing it, and *Scooby* was one of them."

"I didn't fully appreciate *Scooby* until it was seen and children came up to me, like, 'Oh my gosh,'" he continued. "All of a sudden I was like, 'Hey, man, we did good.' We did good, there's legit millions of people [who] love this movie. It wasn't the movie I wanted to make, but I appreciate that and it made me change my outlook on it."

Since playing Fred Jones, Prinze Jr. headlined his own short-lived sitcom on ABC, *Freddie*;* *popped up in episodes of *Boston Legal*, *24*, *Bones*, and *Punky Brewster*; and lent his voice to Kanan Jarrus on *Star Wars: Rebels*, as well as in *Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker *(2019). Additionally, he had a cameo alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar in *Clerks III* and starred in the Netflix holiday rom-com *Christmas With You *(2022). The *I Know What You Did Last Summer* (1997) alum reprised his role as Ray Bronson in the 2025 legacy sequel.

Prinze Jr. shares two children with Gellar, with whom he's been married since 2002.

*Buffy the Vampire Slayer* alum Sarah Michelle Gellar strutted in the purple platform boots of the fashionable and upbeat Daphne Blake in both live-action *Scooby-Doo* flicks.

In February 2023, Gellar told Andy Cohen on *Watch What Happens Live *that the cast initially filmed a "less-than-family-friendly" version* *of the original *Scooby-Doo*. "There was an actual kiss between Daphne and Velma that got cut. I feel like the world wants to see it. I don't know where it is," she said. "There was a great line too that I'll never forget. We were having a fight, Daphne and Fred, and then I yell at him, 'And that ascot makes you look gay!' And I slam the door and they cut that, too."

After *Scooby-Doo*, she went on to other projects like *The Grudge *(2004), its 2006 sequel *The Return *(2005),* *and *Suburban Girl* (2007). After taking a nearly decade-long break from film — during which time she reprised her *Cruel Intentions* (1999) character for an unaired television spinoff — Gellar appeared in the movies *Clerks III* (2022) and *Do Revenge* (2022). She also starred on Paramount+'s supernatural series *Wolf Pack* in 2023 and in season 1 of *Dexter: Original Sin* from 2024 to 2025.

After meeting on the set of *I Know What You Did Last Summer*, Gellar began dating *Scooby-Doo* costar Freddie Prinze Jr. in 2000. They married two years later and have two children, a daughter (Charlotte) and a son (Rocky).

Matthew Lillard (Shaggy Rogers)

In both *Scooby-Doo* and *Monsters Unleashed*, Matthew Lillard dons the signature goatee and green V-neck tee of Shaggy Rogers, who joins forces with his canine confidante to bring the mystery-solving gang back together at the beginning of the first film. However, the actor has expressed mixed feelings about what the franchise represented during a certain period of his career.

"I had this moment where I had done big movies, and I had been the lead in *Scooby-Doo*. I got paid a lot of money, it was a huge success, and I was like, ‘Oh I’m set. I’m going to now sort of control my own destiny. I’m a legit Hollywood sort of success,’” he told* *The Ringer in July 2017. “Which was actually the farthest thing from the truth, because I had really kind of pigeonholed myself to be this kind of [hack], on a movie that nobody respected and nobody really liked, and I was kind of like, people sort of thought of me as a hack at that time. At least I felt that way.”

After playing Shaggy in the live-action films, Lillard continued to voice the character in various animated projects, including *Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!*, *Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?*, and more. He also has reinvented himself as an actor with dramatic turns in Alexander Payne’s *The Descendants *(2011) and in episodes of *Twin Peaks: The Return*, *Good Girls*, and* Daredevil: Born Again. *Additionally, he played the main antagonist, William Afton,** **in the 2023 film adaptation of *Five Nights at Freddy’s* and its 2025 sequel. He will soon appear in Mike Flanagan's miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's *Carrie*.

Since 2000, Lillard has been married to realtor Heather Helm, with whom he shares three children: daughter Addison and sons Liam and Jackson.

Linda Cardellini (Velma Dinkley)

Jinkies! Linda Cardellini breathed life into the iconic Velma, the brains behind Mystery, Inc., who's forever losing her glasses.

"Velma has been around since 1969; I just went trick or treating with my daughter and there were a lot of Velmas out there," Cardellini reflected on the character's legacy to EW in November 2022. "So I love that she still has this place in culture that is sort of always active for decades."

After *Scooby-Doo, *Cardellini landed the regular role of Samantha Taggart on *ER*; appeared in episodes of *New Girl *and *Bloodline*;* *did voice work on *Regular Show* and *Gravity Falls*; and earned film credits for *Brokeback Mountain* (2005), *Green Book* (2018), and *Nonnas* (2025). She also joined the MCU in *Avengers: Age of Ultron *(2015) as Laura Barton, a role she reprised in *Avengers: Endgame *(2019) and *Hawkeye*. Additionally, Cardellini earned Emmy nominations for her guest spot on *Mad Men* and her starring role as Judy Hale on *Dead to Me*. She is one of the leads of *DTF St. Louis*, a 2026 HBO Max limited series.

Since 2013, Cardellini has been engaged to her fiancé, Steven Rodriguez, with whom she shares a daughter.

Neil Fanning voices the titular Great Dane, Shaggy's Scooby-snack-loving partner in crime, in both *Scooby-Doo* live-action films.

"I misspent my childhood watching a lot of cartoons...I warm up every day that I have to perform the voice [of Scooby-Doo]. But it comes really naturally, and that’s half the trick, keeping it natural.... It’s like — 'hummmeeemmph!' — pretty much do that and I’m in," Fanning told *Today* in March 2004. "Basically, there are three elements to Scooby: He’s happy, he’s hungry, or he’s scared. Pretty much, that warmup just covers the whole gamut of his emotions very quickly."

Before lending his voice to the iconic character, the Australian actor and stuntman performed for 14 years in the *Police Academy Stunt Show *at* *Warner Bros. Movie World in Queensland before managing the show for many years. The same year he voiced Scooby-Doo for the live-action film, he did stunts for the films *The* *Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course* and *Ghost Ship.*

Following *Scooby-Doo*, Fanning's latest on-screen credits include a 2009 episode of *Sea Patrol* and a 2016 episode of *Wanted*. He also coordinated stunts for the films *The Great Raid* (2005) and *Daybreakers *(2009) and was a stunt supervisor for three episodes of *Surviving Summer*.

Fanning is a father of three children.

In the first live-action *Scooby-Doo*, Rowan Atkinson plays Emile Mondavarious, Spooky Island's owner and Scrappy-Doo's hostage.

After breaking out in 1979 in *The Secret Policeman’s Ball*, the British comedian earned his first feature film credit in the off-brand James Bond vehicle *Never Say Never Again *(1983). However, Atkinson is most recognized for his titular role on *Mr. Bean*, a character he played across various TV and movie projects since 1990.

Post–*Scooby-Doo*, he's continued to play Mr. Bean on *Mr. Bean: The Animated Series* and *Handy Bean* — as well as in several films — and starred in the *Johnny English* film franchise and on Netflix's *Man vs. Bee. *In 2023, he worked opposite Timothée Chalamet in *Wonka**.*

Atkinson has two children with his ex-wife, makeup artist Sunetra Sastry. After 24 years of marriage, the couple divorced in 2015 following Atikinson's affair with actress Louise Ford, with whom he shares a child.

Isla Fisher (Mary Jane)

Before portraying Mary Jane — Shaggy's airplane meet-cute while headed to Spooky Island — in the first live-action *Scooby-Doo*, Isla Fisher had made her film debut in the German slasher *The Pool *(2001).

After *Scooby-Doo*, the Australian actress landed her Stateside breakout role in *Wedding Crashers* (2005), followed by parts in movies like *The Lookout *(2007), *Hot Rod *(2007), *Confessions of a Shopaholic *(2009), *The Great Gatsby *(2013),* *the *Now You See Me** *trilogy, *Nocturnal Animals* (2016), and *Godmothered *(2020). She also voiced Maggie opposite Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx in the talking-dog comedy *Strays *(2023). On TV, Fisher had stints on *Bored to Death* and *Arrested Development *and played a werewolf on Peacock's *Wolf Like Me*.

Fisher married *Borat* actor Sacha Baron Cohen in 2010, though they ultimately divorced in 2025. Together, they share three children: daughters Olive and Elula and son Montgomery.

Seth Green takes on the role of Patrick Wisely, Velma's love interest and museum curator of the Coolsonian Criminology Museum, in *Monsters Unleashed. *The actor has been most known for voicing Chris Griffin on *Family Guy** *and co-creating the stop-motion sketch comedy series *Robot Chicken.*

Post–*Scooby-Doo 2,* Green continued to appear on screen, with various TV and film credits for *Dads*, *Crazy Ex-Girlfriend*, *The Rookie, *and* Weird: The Al Yankovic Story* (2022). He also earned additional voice roles in various films and TV shows, including Howard the Duck in the *Guardians of the Galaxy* trilogy and episodes of *What If...?*.

In 2010, Green married actress Clare Grant, with whom he's worked on many projects like *Holidays*, *Star Wars: The Clone Wars*, and more.

In *Monsters Unleashed*, Peter Boyle appeared as Jeremiah "Old Man" Wickles, the ex-convict whose house full of traps ensnared Mystery Inc.

When *Scooby-Doo 2* was released, the veteran actor had already won an Emmy for his guest stint on *The X-Files* and was on his way to earning seven Emmy nominations for playing the cantankerous Frank Barone on *Everybody Loves Raymond*.

Following his role in *Scooby-Doo 2*, Boyle appeared in *The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause* (2006) and died at age 71 that same year.

Boyle is survived by his wife — theater producer Loraine Alterman — and their two daughters, Lucy and Amy.

Tim Blake Nelson takes on the role of the evil Dr. Jacobo in *Monsters Unleashed — *thanks to his son.

“A movie I was going to direct fell through, and I called my agent and said, ‘Look, I now have this free summer. Is there anything you can find me?’ Two days later, my manager and agent called and they said, ‘Well, we have an offer for you to do *Scooby-Doo 2*,’” he told *Tulsa World* (his hometown newspaper) in August 2023. “I was on the phone in my son’s room, and I said, somewhat derisively, '*Scooby-Doo 2*?' And then Henry looked up at me, and he said, ‘You can be in *Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?'* And I said, ‘All right, I’m going to do this.’”

Following his portrayal of Dr. Jacobo, the Juilliard-trained actor booked memorable roles, including Samuel Sterns in *The Incredible Hulk *(2008); Dr. Allen in *Fantastic Four *(2015); and the titular character in the Coen brothers' *The Ballad of Buster Scruggs *(2018). Bud Cauley birdied four holes in a five-hole stretch on the back nine at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley's North Course to win the RBC Canadian Open for his first PGA Tour victory in 239 career starts and eight years after being involved in a single-car accident that derailed his career.

"So many people helped me get here and I'm really thankful for all the help that I've gotten," he said.

Cauley, 36, closed with 5-under 65 on Sunday in Caledon, Ottawa for a 72-hole total of 17-under 263 and two-shot win over Matt Fitzpatrick.

Bud Cauley reacts to his birdie on the 12th green during the final round of the 2026 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto.

A three-time first-team All-American at the University of Alabama, Cauley was destined for stardom when he turned pro, and he recorded five top-15 finishes in 11 starts to earn PGA Tour status without needing Q-School. The RBC Canadian Open was among the tournaments wooing him with a sponsor invite when he joined the pay-for-play ranks, and Cauley finished T-13 in his tournament debut in 2011.

"I just remember the golf course being very hard. I remember Tommy Gainey playing well the first round and saying we should have a U.S. Open here, kind of forgetting that we were not in the United States," said Cauley with a laugh.

But his career has endured more lows than highs. In 2014, he suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery. That was nothing compared to tragedy striking in June 2018. Cauley was a passenger in a single-car accident in Dublin, Ohio, during the Memorial Tournament. He sustained six broken ribs, a broken leg and a collapsed lung in the accident in which he was a passenger. He posted on Instagram that he felt "lucky to be alive."

While he recovered and resumed his playing career, the injury to his ribs never fully healed. "Out of the blue, my (right) side started to hurt again," he said.

When he visited the doctor, they determined to remove the plates in his chest during a surgery in April 2021 but they couldn't take them out because the bone had grown on top of the plates. More surgeries followed for Cauley, who was honored in April as the Ben Hogan Award winner by the Golf Writers Association of America Award, an honor given annually since 1954 to an individual who has continued to be active in golf despite a physical handicap or serious illness, and they didn't heal well. He missed more than three seasons as he suffered from a seroma, the abnormal accumulation of serous fluid in a dead space containing plasma and lymphatic fluid, and C.Diff.Colitis, an infection of the colon from antibiotics. "Everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong," he said.

With his optimism for a recovery nearly depleted, he conceded there were conversations with his wife that if this doesn't work out, what are some other things that he could do. But Cauley returned in 2024 after a long layoff, finished T-6 at the Players Championship last year to retain his card and finally can call himself a champion.

Cauley had his best day on Friday, shooting a bogey-free 63. He entered the final round trailing by two before making birdies on three of the first eight holes to make his presence felt. He added his named to a trophy dating to 1904 with four birdies in a five-hole stretch coming home. First he stuffed his tee shot at the 206-yard par-3 11th to 3 ½ feet for birdie. He grabbed the lead with a chip-in birdie at 12 and then sunk a 14-foot birdie putt at 13. He nailed a 16-footer for good measure at 16 to stretch his lead to four shots. The stars finally were aligning for Cauley.

He flared his tee shot at 16 way right but it bounced off a moving golf cart preventing it from going deep into the woods and wound up with the break of a lifetime, his ball ricocheting 20 yards left of where it seemed destined to finish and into the right rough. He walked away with a routine par. He made just his second bogey of the day at 17 but had enough cushion to taste victory at last.

Bud Cauley birdied three consecutive holes on the back nine during the final round of the RBC Canadian Open on his way to shooting 5-under-par 65 and winning on the PGA Tour for the first time Sunday in Caledon, Ontario.

Cauley ended up at 17-under 263 for a two-stroke victory over England's Matt Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick shot 64, finishing his round with a 12-foot eagle putt on No. 18 after a bogey on the previous hole pretty much dashed his hopes of winning the tournament at rainy TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley's North course.

Norway's Viktor Hovland (65) claimed third at 14 under.

Cauley, 36, had placed third four times for his best finishes since turning pro in 2011.

Cauley used four birdies on a five-hole stretch (Nos. 11-15) to pull away from the pack for a three-shot lead.

Jimmy Stanger trailed by three going to No. 18, but an approach into the water cost him and he bogeyed the hole and settled for 67. At 13 under, he tied with Jackson Suber (70), Brice Garnett (68) and Sweden's Jesper Svensson (68) for fourth place. Suber led Cauley by one shot through three rounds.

Defending champion Ryan Fox of New Zealand posted 68 and tied with two others -- Canadian Sudarshan Yellamaraju (68) and South African Aldrich Potgieter (65) -- at 12 under.

Second-round leader Ben James recovered from a disastrous third round to shoot 69 and tie for 54th place at 3 under in his PGA Tour debut.

Brooks Koepka, who was a co-leader after a first-round 64, withdrew prior to the final round citing a hand injury. After a 72 on Saturday, he was at 6 under through three rounds.

The start of Sunday's round was pushed back because of concerns related to the weather forecast. Golfers were sent off the first and 10th tees in threesomes.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The narrative for the Hurricanes entering the playoffs was whether they would finally break through and win the Eastern Conference after coming so close in recent years.

Now the question is whether Carolina will close the deal and win the Stanley Cup.

That answer could come Sunday night when the Hurricanes take a 3-2 series lead into their game at Vegas, facing a Golden Knights team that held the Cup aloft just three years ago.

Should the Hurricanes prevail, it will be their second Cup and first since winning it all 20 years ago when current coach Rod Brind'Amour captained that club.

He has kept the Hurricanes competitive, but as well as they played in the regular season, they couldn't get out of the East. They lost in the conference final two of the past three years before finally breaking through this year with a five-game series victory over Montreal.

Now Carolina is 60 minutes from potentially winning it all, but the Hurricanes do have some margin for error. They can lose and still win the Cup on home ice Wednesday in a winner-take-all Game 7.

Vegas coach John Tortorella boldly pronounced after Thursday's 4-2 loss in Game 5 that he was leaving his clothes at his North Carolina team hotel in anticipation of a return trip.

It might not have been Mark Messier's guarantee before the Rangers defeated the Devils in the 1994 Eastern final, but should the Golden Knights win the title, Torts' declaration will be up there in Las Vegas lore with team owner Bill Foley's "Cup in six" pledge that came to fruition in 2023.

- Tim Allen said that his 15-year age gap romance with Jenna Elfman on *Shifting Gears* is "right at that border" of "creepy."

- Allen added, "If Jenna didn't look so damn nice, then our age gap is not that much."

- The actor also said, "When they have her making jokes about it, it's not my preference."

Tim Allen was concerned about how his on-screen romance with Jenna Elfman would look in *Shifting Gears*.

The *Toy Story* star, 72, told *Us* that he feared he would look too old to share a love story with the *Dharma & Greg* star, 57, on the ABC sitcom.

"It depends on the pictures," he said. "It gets creepy for me at a certain age [and] we're right at that border. If Jenna didn't look so damn nice, then our age gap is not that much. I just let my hair go natural, and she just looks — especially on camera — quite young."

He continued, "I just don't want to be creepy about it — and that's kind of the borderline image these days."

Fortunately for Allen, the relationship between his character, Matt Parker, and Elfman's character, Eve Drake, has not caused any notable issues from a storytelling perspective, but the *Home Improvement *actor doesn't appreciate it when his costar explicitly references his age.

"It hasn't really come out — except when they joke about, 'Well, a guy your age.' When they have her making jokes about it, it's not my preference," he explained. "But I said, 'It's admitting what is there.' There's times — and I'll give it to them — that they lit right and in the right clothing, so it doesn't look creepy."

Allen also said he didn't set out to add a romantic subplot when the show began. "Our showrunner [Michelle Nader] put this thing together, and they really like the romance. I wanted a car show about a widower to deal with grief. That's what I wanted," he explained. "I loved Kat Dennings [as my daughter] because she's the perfect choice. That old dynamic is really where I was at."

The actor had no issue with Elfman's performance but said he felt self-conscious about his age when their characters got together. "They threw this romance in there, and I know Jenna, so I said, 'That's not the problem. It's just that I'm feeling way too old for her,'" he said. "Sometimes they say, 'Visually it doesn't look like you think it does.'"

Allen has nothing but praise for his costar and admits that the romantic side of the show has helped the series.

"She's so fun to be around, and it's brought out a whole different part of that show and brought a different audience to that show," the *Galaxy Quest* star said. "I'm really out there for the car guys, and I make sure the car stuff is fun and exciting. Then the office is cool, and now you've got romance for the people that want that. Because it turns out the flirting and the actual activity between these two characters is working, and I said, 'All right, I'll go there.' [Jenna is] really good at this, and the romance is kind of generated quite by accident."
