Dionne Warwick joined Twitter, which is now called X, after her nieces introduced her to the platform

Her playful post to Chance the Rapper sparked a friendship and led to their 2021 collaboration "Nothing's Impossible"

"Hi, @chancetherapper. If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name?" she wrote in 2020

Dionne Warwick is a Twitter expert.

The legendary singer, 85, appeared on the latest episode ofELLE's Three Generations series alongside Teyana Taylor and Jai'Len Josey on Thursday, June 18 and revealed how she got into Twitter, which is now called X.

"My niece was in my living rom laughing and giggling and carrying on. Their little fingers were just carrying on on their phones and I wanted to know what they were laughing about," Warwick explained.

"They showed me what they were laughing about and I said, 'You think this is funny?' And it was not very nice. So I said, 'Show me how to do this,'" she continued. "And I went on, thinking it was called Twatter."

The "Walk on By" singer said that her nieces then corrected her and told her it was "Twitter."

"I went on Twitter and let all the babies know, there's a grown up in your mist now," she said, adding of Chance the Rapper, "I decided to do the first one and wanted to know why he had to put that he was a rapper. We all knew he was a rapper."

Chance the Rapper, 33, was shocked that Warwick knew who he was. She told him she knew "what he did" — which is why she wondered why he had to put it in his name.

"One thing led to another. As a matter of fact, we ended up recording together," she recounted. "He's a wonderful friend. But that's how I got involved with Twatter."

Warwick shared the post dedicated to Chance the Rapper in December 2020.

"Hi, @chancetherapper. If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name?" Warwick asked. "I cannot stop thinking about this."

"I am now Dionne the Singer," she wrote, before adding that Chance the Rapper's single with Justin Bieber, "Holy," is "one of my favorite songs right now."

In response, Chance the Rapper wrote that he was "freaking out" that she knew who he was.

"I will be whatever you wanna call me Ms Warwick. God bless you," he wrote.

Warwick then suggested that they "rap together" and she said she would "message him." The exchange led to their 2021 collaboration "Nothing's Impossible."

After her first set of posts on X, Warwick's son Damon Elliot joked that he would take her smartphone away.

"Mom that's it! As soon as this quarantine is over I'm taking your iphone away from you.. time to go back to a flip phone," he wrote on X, to which his mother hilariously replied, "Good luck getting into MY house without a working key."

Alcock admitted tattoos are addictive and joked about getting another one after her interview on Last Meals

Milly Alcock may be preparing to introduce a new version of Kara Zor-El to audiences in Supergirl, but off-screen, one of the most personal expressions of who she is can be found written all over her skin.

During a recent appearance on Last Meals, Alcock, 26, revealed that she has 20 tattoos and they are more than just body art.

When host Josh Scherer pointed out that she has "a fair amount of tattoos," Alcock casually dropped the number.

"Twenty," she told him, with a shoulder shrug and a big teasing smile.

The revelation surprised Scherer, 34, who replied, "You have 20 tattoos. Hell yeah!"

While some people avoid tattoos because they worry they'll change over time, Alcock sees things differently.

"Being an actor, my body is my tool," she explained. "But also my body's in service of other people and a character and whoever I need to be."

With House of Dragon launching her to international fame and Supergirl her biggest role yet, Alcock has spent the past few years stepping into increasingly high-profile characters. Her tattoos, she explained, are one thing that remains entirely her own.

"There's something very grounding about at the end of the day, taking it all off, and it's my skin, you know?" she said. "It's personalized to me."

The actress also connected her love of tattoos to the way her life has evolved in the past few years. Since leaving Australia and spending much of her time traveling and working abroad, Alcock has come to see identity as something that's always shifting.

"I think that living in a different country and traveling so much, you become this collage of everywhere that you're from and who you are in the center of that," Alcock told Scherer. "So I think we're always in flux."

That outlook appears to be exactly why tattoos resonate with her. Rather than seeing them as permanent markers that lock a person into a specific version of themselves, Alcock views them as snapshots of different chapters, experiences and moments along the way.

Of course, there's another reason she keeps adding to the collection.

"They're also just really addictive," she admitted, with a laugh. "I want to get another one."

"What are you doing after this?" Scherer joked.

"Getting another tattoo," Alcock replied with a laugh.

Supergirl hits theaters on June 26.

There are countless reasons for *Jeopardy* fans to tune in nightly: the thrill of tight games, the laughs from host Ken Jennings’ banter with contestants, the bragging rights that come from knowing the answers to the toughest triple-stumpers.

But for many loyal viewers — particularly those of us who have been watching the show for decades — the true appeal of *Jeopardy* is its consistency. While the clues and contestants change night to night, the game itself stays the same. It’s one of the few comfort watches we can always count on.

Well, for the most part. Every once in a while, a player buzzes in with an answer that truly catches fans off-guard. We’re talking about responses so wrong that the host is rendered speechless, or so unintentionally dirty that it’s incredible they made it to air.

We’ve scoured *Jeopardy*’s 42-year history to find some of the most glaring and blush-inducing missteps ever made.

Read on to discover the 13 most shocking *Jeopardy* answers of all time.

"What's a hoe?"

Ken Jennings on 'Jeopardy'

Ken Jennings on 'Jeopardy'.

Jeopardy Productions, Inc.

While he’s now hosting *Jeopardy!*, Jennings first made a name for himself as a contestant, thanks to an incredible 74-game winning streak in 2004. He still holds the record for the most consecutive games won.

Though he gave far more correct answers than incorrect ones, Jennings has had his share of flubs. The most infamous was in response to the clue: “This term for a long-handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker.”

Jennings buzzed in with, “What’s a hoe?” His answer prompted laughter from the audience and a surprised “whoa” from late host Alex Trebek. “They teach you that in school in Utah, huh?” Trebek prodded.

The correct response was “rake."

Jennings has recently referenced what is perhaps his most memorable answer. When a contestant wrongly answered “hoe” in a June 2025 game, Jennings quipped, “It seems like ‘What is a hoe?’ is never correct out here.”

“What is regular Virginia?”

Margaret Shelton on 'Jeopardy'

Sometimes a *Jeopardy* answer can be both correct and funny enough to be remembered years after the fact.

That was the case in a March 2022 game. A clue in the "Road Trip" category read: “The Blue Ridge Parkway connects the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with this state's Shenandoah National Park.”

Ujal Thakor was first to the buzzer, incorrectly guessing Tennessee. Then came Christie Baugher, who said West Virginia. Finally, returning champion Margaret Shelton got her turn. “What is regular Virginia?” she guessed.

Given that her answer was technically accurate, Shelton was awarded the points. “Regular, original recipe Virginia, yes,” Jennings confirmed amid audience laughter.

In a July game that same year, the show hilariously referenced the moment with the category "West Virginia & Regular Virginia," a deep-cut callback for *Jeopardy* diehards.

“What are public toilets?”

Way back in *Jeopardy*’s second season, Gary Giardina triumphed for five games in a row at a time when contestants were capped at that many consecutive wins. He returned for the 1986 Tournament of Champions, delivering a response that has become his lasting legacy.

In the category "Roman Empire," the clue was: “By the 4th century A.D., Rome had 28 public ones stacked with rolls of papyrus.” Giardina buzzed in and responded, “What are public toilets?”

Contestant Harvey Becker ended up getting the correct response of “libraries,” but Trebek had a good laugh about Giardina’s assumption that papyrus might have been the Roman Empire’s answer to toilet paper.

“I kind of like Gary’s line for humor, though,” the host admitted to Becker, an attorney-turned-author. “You might remember that, Harvey, when you’re writing.”

“What is a pansy?”

Becky Sullivan's guess of 'What is a pansy' on 'Jeopardy'

Becky Sullivan's guess of 'What is a pansy' on 'Jeopardy'.

Jeopardy Productions, Inc.

In an October 2015 game, the "Final Jeopardy" round featured a rare picture clue — a pink flower accompanied by the text: “The flower pictured here is called this, also a disparaging term for people on the political left.”

Trebek went to contestant Becky Sullivan first, joking, “You may have found a way to insult liberals in this country.” Given that setup, it’s no surprise that the response “What is a pansy?” earned laughter from the audience.

It’s also no surprise that the moment went viral, and was named by ** as one of the best game show moments of the year.

But Sullivan wasn’t trying to insult anyone — she just didn’t know the answer. As she wrote in a piece for NPR shortly after the episode aired, she had no idea that the correct response, "bleeding heart," was also the name of a flower. She went with the only name for a flower she could think of that was also a “disparaging term.”

“I also didn’t know that host Alex Trebek can read the 'Final Jeopardy' responses before they’re revealed,” Sullivan wrote. “So it was a big surprise when he set up my guess like a joke.”

“What is the age of consent?”

A contestant's response in an April 2015 episode of *Jeopardy* has become one of the most awkward moments in the show's history.

The clue: “In common law, the age of this, signaling adulthood, is presumed to be 14 in boys and 12 in girls.” Contestant Tom Imler quickly buzzed in to deliver the answer, “What is the age of consent?”

The correct answer was “puberty,” but Imler’s response quickly went viral on Twitter and Reddit, with some *Jeopardy* viewers disturbed by the implications of his confusion. The actual age of consent is between 16 and 18, depending on the state.

In an interview with the *New York Daily News*, Imler admitted to being “a little embarrassed” by his answer, but also angry about the accusations strangers were making about him online.

“It’s just utterly ridiculous,” he told the outlet. “I decided I’m not going to let trolls ruin my accomplishment.”

“Who is the spiciest memelord?”

Lilly Chin on 'Jeopardy'

Lilly Chin on 'Jeopardy'.

Jeopardy Productions, Inc.

It’s rare to be able to deliberately turn yourself into a meme — and even rarer when you’re doing it by identifying as a memelord.

In February 2017, *Jeopardy *College Championship contestant Lilly Chin, a senior at MIT, had a runaway game going into "Final Jeopardy," giving her the freedom to write down whatever she pleased. The clue read: “Astronomer who began his epitaph, ‘I used to measure the heavens, now I shall measure the shadows of Earth.’”

With the $100,000 prize guaranteed, Chin gave the instantly iconic answer: “Who is the spiciest memelord?”

In an interview on the show’s YouTube channel, Chin explained the origin of the term “meme,” as well as what it means to be spicy. “A memelord is someone who has mastery of the memes,” she noted, securing her spot as a memelord for the ages.

“What is a threesome?”

Contestant Kara Spak had a tough time living down a surprising response she gave on a November 2011 Tournament of Champions episode.

In the category "Group Countdown," Trebek read the clue: “If Andy yearns for Brenda & Brenda cares about Charlene who pines for Andy, the 3 of them form one of these.”

Spak answered, “What is a threesome?” Then she immediately made a face indicating she knew she was wrong. The instant audience laughter was also a pretty good indication.

After fellow player Roger Craig gave the correct response of “love triangle,” Trebek replied in his infamous deadpan: “Kara has obviously had much more experience than I.”

In an interview with Upper St. Clair Patch after her answer went viral, Spak defended the response.

“I don’t think the answer was totally off base,” she noted. “I was kind of embarrassed that I said ‘threesome’ on TV and in front of my mom in the audience.”

Jeopardy

Jeopardy Productions, Inc.

Keep in mind *Jeopardy* responses must be in the form of a question — but that wasn’t the only thing wrong with Kevin McGinty’s answer during an April 2017 game.

As Trebek explained, the category "3 + 3" meant that all correct responses had to be two words that were each three letters. The $200 clue read simply: “A hired killer.”

McGinty buzzed in first, thought about it for a moment, then answered, “Hot gun.”

The right answer was “hit man.” Nevertheless, the undeniable strangeness of “hot gun” made even odder by the missing “What is” preceding it, lives on as one of the show's strangest wrong answers.

“What is fear of Mexican music stars?”

*Jeopardy* contestants have different strategies when it comes to clues they don’t know. Some buzz in and wager a guess, while others avoid getting penalized for a wrong response. When you’ve landed on a Daily Double you don’t know the answer to, however, your best bet is to say *something*.

That’s likely what 2014 contestant Michelle DeGrothy was thinking when she was given the clue “Selenophobia” in the category "What Are You Afraid Of?" Her answer: “What is fear of Mexican music stars?”

“No, but that’s a great response,” Trebek admitted. The actual answer is fear of the moon, though you can see how DeGrothy landed on her response, as Selena was an acclaimed Mexican American singer-songwriter.

For what it’s worth, DeGrothy had only wagered $600 and went on to win the game in a runaway.

“What is Kinky Boots?”

Choyon Manjrekar's guess of 'Kinky Boots' on 'Jeopardy'

Choyon Manjrekar's guess of 'Kinky Boots' on 'Jeopardy'.

Jeopardy Productions, Inc.

"Final Jeopardy" is another situation where you might as well answer even if you aren’t sure. In a May 2015 game, contestants were given the clue: “A Christian hymn & a Jewish holiday hymn are both titled this, also the name of a 2009 Tony-nominated musical.”

Two players didn’t put anything down, but returning champion Choyon Manjrekar followed his heart and answered, “What is Kinky Boots?”

To his credit, *Kinky Boots* *is* a Tony-nominated musical, though it first strutted onto Broadway in 2013. There are also, it perhaps goes without saying, no Christian or Jewish holiday hymns with the word “kinky” in their titles.

“Whenever people go to temple or church, they sing ‘Kinky Boots’!” Trebek cracked.

Manjrekar still went on to win the game. “I panicked and put down something,” he admitted in an online panel discussion. “The moral of this story is bone up on musicals next time.”

“What is a — oh, God — a dick?”

Austin Rogers after giving his infamous answer on 'Jeopardy'

Jeopardy Productions, Inc.

In October 2017, Austin Rogers was already a 12-day *Jeopardy!* champion when he was presented with the clue “Slang for a detective” in the category "Starts or Ends With a Tree."

After buzzing in, the champ realized the awkwardness of his intended reply, but powered forward: “What is a — oh, God — a dick?”

“Dick” *is* slang for a detective, but the most shocking aspect of this memorable *Jeopardy* moment is the exchange that followed Rogers’ response.

“I know nothing about a dick tree,” Trebek said. “But there is a gum tree.” The correct answer here was “gumshoe.”

Refusing to let the joke die, Rogers replied, “I’ve seen one.”

“Who is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?”

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on 'Jeopardy'

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on 'Jeopardy'.

Jeopardy Productions, Inc.

There’s nothing particularly shocking about incorrectly responding to a clue with the name of a famous athlete — unless, of course, you’re the famous athlete in question.

From September 2009 to April 2010, *Jeopardy* hosted the Million Dollar Celebrity Invitational featuring 27 different stars. One of the invitees was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a former NBA player, actor, and writer.

Trebek read the first clue from the category "I Went to UCLA": “Tell your old man to drag this '70s UCLA & Trail Blazer center (& Lanier!) up & down the court for 48 minutes.”

Abdul-Jabbar buzzed in instantly, confidently answering: “Who is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?”

“No!” Trebek replied to raucous laughter from the audience. Abdul-Jabbar facepalmed as the host revealed that the right answer was Bill Walton.

“Embarrassing moments on *Jeopardy,*” Trebek correctly concluded.

“Who is Alex Trebek?”

Alex Trebek hosting 'Jeopardy'

Eric McCandless via Getty

It was a "Final Jeopardy" response that Trebek could only laugh at — and it happened twice.

In a January 2008 game, the category was "TV Celebrities." The clue: “Not an actor, he is the highest-paid foreign-born personality on the 2007 *Forbes* list of top television earners.”

First up was Steven Melendez, who answered, “Who is Trebek?”

Without missing a beat, Trebek responded, “I wish.”

Next was Ethan Brosowsky. “Did he put Trebek also?” the host asked.

Indeed, Brosowsky’s answer was revealed as, “Who is Alex Trebek?” Laughing, Trebek noted, “You are forgetting many other important people.”

Only Melissa Prusi correctly identified Simon Cowell, making her the game's champion.

- Jamie Lynn Curtis and Mariska Hargitay are addressing the age-old question of what is the proper pronunciation of Los Angeles

- The actresses are part of Hollywood dynasties, met briefly as children, and later reconnected while Hargitay was working on a documentary about her mother, Jayne Mansfield.

- Curtis called the documentary a "gorgeous movie."

How do you pronounce "Los Angeles"? Ask Jamie Lee Curtis and Mariska Hargitay.

The actresses, who are members of Hollywood dynasties, debated how exactly to pronounce "Los Angeles" during their conversation for *Variety *and CNN's "Actors on Actors." Curtis' parents are actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. Hargitay, meanwhile, is the daughter of Jayne Mansfield.

"You explained to me that you were making a doc, you had explained to me that you had come back to Los Angeles, you had gone through the beginning of the storage unit," Curtis said, referring to Hargitay's documentary *My Mom Jayne*. Before the *Freaky Friday** *star could continue, Hargitay paused her.

"I'm trying not to laugh, because you just said Los Angeles," she said, emphasizing the "o" like in the word "ghost."

"Okay, but, what do you call it? Los Feliz," Curtis responded, placing the same emphasis she does in "Los Angeles." Hargitay countered that they're not talking about Los Feliz. "You don't say 'Los Angeles.' If I had a jury here, everyone would vote for me."

The actresses asked those in the studio with them how they would pronounce Los Angeles. While the *Scarpetta** *star pressed their colleagues on their pronunciation, Hargitay had enough.

"Nobody says that. You guys, please God, let's move on," Hargitay concluded, before apologizing to Curtis as she was about to say "deep s--t."

"You can laugh," the Oscar winner reassured the *Law and Order: Special Victims Unit** *star.

Curtis and Hargitay have more in common than their respective Hollywood lineage; in fact, their lifelong connections to showbiz brought them together decades earlier.

"Nobody knows this: You grew up in a pink house on Sunset Boulevard, which was once owned by Sonny and Cher and later purchased by Tony Curtis," Curtis told Hargitay.

"He married this very young woman. He bought this house, and [you and I] met. There is a photograph of us standing in the driveway. We never saw each other after that. You ask yourself, 'Why don’t we know each other when we have so much history with our families?'"

They would later reconnect as adults through actress Amy Landecker, when Hargitay was filming *My Mom Jayne*. Hargitay called their first phone call "so emotional."

"When we have histories like ours, we are in such a unique and singular position that people just can’t understand it unless they’ve lived it. You’re one of the most deeply sensitive, empathetic, and compassionate humans that I’ve met. Your unique lens on my story was extraordinary," Hargitay said.

"For anyone uninitiated," she said, "that’s how we met, and that’s where the connective tissue is. It’s deep, raw, human, and has nothing to do with show-off business, even though our whole lives have been in show-off business."

- The 2020 murder of Reagan Simmons-Hancock has received renewed interest following the Netflix documentary *Maternal Instinct.*

- Taylor Parker lied to ex-boyfriend Wade Griffin for months about a fake pregnancy before killing Simmons-Hancock and taking her unborn child.

- Griffin was not involved in the murder, but has been served a civil suit by Simmons-Hancock's widower.

The new Netflix documentary *Maternal Instinct* details the chilling 2020 murder of Reagan Simmons-Hancock at the hands of Taylor Parker, who faked a pregnancy for 10 months before attempting to steal Simmons-Hancock’s unborn child.

The documentary explores the lingering impact of Parker's actions on Simmons-Hancock's family. It also checks in with the family and friends of Wade Griffin, Parker's former boyfriend and the man she claimed was the father of her child. Little did Griffin know, Parker was incapable of having children at the time.

In 2022, Parker was convicted of capital murder and kidnapping and sentenced to death. While she awaits execution on death row, we take a look at what happened to Griffin in the years since his ex-girlfriend’s ghastly crime.

Texas native Wade Griffin is a roofer, welder, hog-trapper, and livestock manager.

Griffin met Parker at a rodeo in the summer of 2019, and the pair quickly entered into a relationship. During Parker's 2022 trial, he described their time together as "an emotional rollercoaster," according to KSLA. He also testified that she had been pregnant earlier in their relationship but had suffered a miscarriage.

By the fall of 2019, Parker had moved into Griffin's home and become part of his family. She began claiming that she was going to purchase a large piece of land for the two of them using a family inheritance she was supposedly owed. Then, in January 2020, she claimed she was pregnant. While Parker had two children from a previous marriage, a 2015 hysterectomy had left her unable to conceive.

Though Griffin was unaware of this at the time, his mother, Connie Griffin, began to suspect that much of what Parker told them was a lie. As Connie explains in the documentary, her suspicions were raised after a car Parker had gifted her was repossessed because it had never actually been purchased. There were other red flags as well.

“She seemed to want a close relationship,” Connie testified in court. “I could not tell if he wanted that or was standing back. There were some red flags. One was that she didn’t have custody of her son.”

Though Connie tried to discuss the idea that Parker might not be pregnant, Griffin chose to believe his girlfriend.

“He didn’t want to listen,” she said.

Part of the reason why Griffin was attracted to Parker was because of her homemaking abilities. “She was cooking. She was a good cook, pretty much the best I ever had. So I was excited,” Griffin explained during the trial, as reported by KTAL.

While he acknowledged he thought the pregnancy might be a trap to make him stay with Parker, he genuinely believed she was with child.

On Oct. 9, 2020, Taylor Parker drove to Reagan Simmons-Hancock’s home and killed her, strangling her and inflicting over 100 sharp force injuries. After Simmons-Hancock was dead, Parker performed a crude C-section on her body to remove the unborn child to pass off as her own.

Parker had met Simmons-Hancock after photographing the latter’s wedding in 2019. She later befriended Simmons-Hancock, who was pregnant with a baby girl, Braxlynn. During the trial, Simmons-Hancock’s mother, Jessica Brookes, said that she didn’t think her daughter and Parker had much contact before the pregnancy.

After killing Simmons-Hancock, Parker was pulled over by state troopers for driving erratically. Parker claimed she had just given birth on the side of the road. She then called Griffin to meet her at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Griffin was four hours away, attempting to make a hog sale that Parker had orchestrated. (As we see in the documentary, the sale turned out to be fake.) When Parker arrived at the hospital, it was quickly deduced that she had not given birth, and that the baby was not hers. Braxlynn died at the hospital.

After Griffin arrived at the hospital to meet Parker, he was handcuffed and questioned by authorities. “They told me to turn around and put my hands on the wall, and I said, ‘What’s going on?’” he testified. He thought he was being arrested for attempting illegal hog transport, believing that Parker's mother must've "called the law."

In October 2022, Parker was found guilty of capital murder and kidnapping. One month later, she was sentenced to death after less than two hours of jury deliberation.

Witnesses testified that she had a lengthy history of lying to get what she wanted, stretching back to childhood. She allegedly faked numerous illnesses, including cancer, multiple sclerosis, and a stroke.

Parker remains on death row at the maximum-security Patrick L. O'Daniel Unit in Gatesville, Texas. She is notable for being only the seventh woman in the state's history to receive a death sentence.

Parker continues to appeal her conviction while awaiting an execution date. Recently, she appealed her kidnapping conviction in November 2025, but was denied. The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear her plea in May.

Per the documentary, Parker is currently the youngest woman on death row in Texas.

Where is Wade Griffin now?

Aside from his appearance in *Maternal Instinct*, Griffin has remained largely out of the public eye.

Griffin testified in court about the experience, saying, "[It] pretty much ruined my whole reputation. Slandered my name, my brothers, my mom. I lost my job over it. Still trying to figure out stuff today. Worst thing I’ve ever had to live through, for sure.”

Griffin maintains that he had no involvement with or knowledge of Parker’s schemes. During the trial, investigators portrayed him as one of Parker’s many victims.

At one point during the trial, First Assistant District Attorney Kelley Crisp said to Griffin plainly, “Probably no shock to you that they’re trying to make you look like an idiot, but she manipulated you. You understand that, right?”

“Yes ma’am,” Griffin replied.

When asked if he ever thought something like this could happen, he replied, “Not in a million years.”

Shortly after Parker’s conviction, Homer Hancock, the widower of Simmons-Hancock, filed a negligence and wrongful death suit against Parker *and* Griffin, according to WJTV. The suit alleged that Griffin bore some responsibility for Parker’s erratic driving, which contributed to the death of Braxlynn. At the time, the car was registered to Griffin.

The outcome of the lawsuit, or whether one has been reached, has not been shared publicly.
