- Kirsten Dunst joked in the press about wanting to make a movie that didn't lose money. Then *Minecraft* came calling.

- "It is so funny and we joke about it," Jared Hess, director of *A Minecraft Movie Squared*, tells EW.

- "We were already talking about her. So it was this weird convergence of love."

In an August interview with *Town & Country*, Kirsten Dunst made a joke heard all throughout Hollywood. "Maybe I can just make a movie where I don’t lose money?" she said.

The writer of the piece mentioned specifically that "she’d also really like to be in *Minecraft 2*" because "her kids loved the first one and because she’d like to make a pile of cash."

"It is so funny and we joke about it," Jared Hess, the director who cast her in *A Minecraft Movie Squared*, tells ** for an exclusive Xbox cover story. "Jack [Black] and I were such big fans of Kirsten. I've always wanted to work with her, and Jack as well. So when she started to manifest... We'd seen that [from] her doing some press stuff. We were like, 'Holy cow! This is meant to be,' because we were already talking about her. So it was this weird convergence of love."

Dunst was officially announced for the sequel in March. The actress, recently seen in films *Roofman* with Channing Tatum and *Civil War* with Cailee Spaeny, portrays Alex, the main green-shirted female avatar in the video game. Black will return to his blue shirt as Steve, the game's main male avatar.

Hess describes Alex as "even bigger than Steve in my mind."

"They're so adorable on screen together, and they're having so much fun in every scene that they do," the filmmaker says of Dunst and Black. "She's just eating it up. She's got two young boys that love *Minecraft* and I think spend a lot of time doing *Minecraft* LEGOs, as well. It's some big mom points for Kirsten, and she's working it. She's trying to deliver for her boys, which is awesome."

Kayleen Walters, a producer on the film and head of Mojang Studios, acknowledges, "We always love when we hear that *Minecraft* means something to your family. Definitely love that and love that she wants to celebrate the excitement of the brand and the movie around the world. Anytime you see an actress of her caliber who has excitement and energy around your brand, you want to have a conversation with her."

When Hess speaks with EW, he's only a few weeks into filming *A Minecraft Movie Squared*. Plot details are still hard to come by, but he calls the sequel "much more ambitious" and notes how "we're bouncing all over the place to so many really, really unique locations. It's bigger, it's crazier, it's funnier." He also confirms what fans suspected by the initial teaser poster, which featured two axes glowing purple: Enchanted items are coming into the mix.

"We're taking Steve and Alex and going on this epic mission back into the Overworld," he says. "We're definitely expanding their abilities and things that they have to do to get the job done."

The first movie became the fifth highest-grossing film of 2025, fueled by the massive fan base and viral trends like the in-theater "chicken jockey" popcorn bonanza. With the sequel, the creators are taking further advantage of the community surrounding the source material. To date, Mojang has sold more than 400 million copies of *Minecraft*, which makes it the best-selling video game in history.

Warner Bros. and Mojang announced the Build Challenge, in which players can enter for a chance to have an original *Minecraft* build brought to life in the upcoming movie. Hess fully plans to create full sets based on the winning applicants' designs.

"We've got some really expansive environmental shots and really sweeping shots of vistas," he says. "We're able to shoot on location. We're really taking advantage of some of the beautiful scenery that's here in New Zealand. We've kind of gone all over the world and actually shot second unit and plate shots of some really unique biomes that exist in the game. So within those, we're gonna be really bringing in some really cool builds from the player community and feature them in the film, which will be awesome. We're thrilled about it and can't wait to see what they come up with."

- Some fans are lauding *Superman* star David Corenswet as a real-life superhero after the actor was caught fending off a photographer on costar Milly Alcock's behalf at the 'Supergirl' premiere on Monday.

- "Superman protecting his cousin like usual," one X user quipped of Corenswet's move resembling one his onscreen persona, Clark Kent/Superman, might make for Alcock's Kara Zor-El (a.k.a. Supergirl).

- The duo will bring their super-powered cousins to the big screen when *Supergirl* flies into theaters on June 26.

Not all heroes wear capes — sometimes they wear tan Dunhill suits.

Fans are lauding *Superman* star David Corenswet as a real-life superhero after the actor was caught on camera seemingly protecting costar Milly Alcock from a persistent photographer during the *Supergirl* world premiere on Monday.

The incident has gone viral online thanks to a clip shared on social media that shows the moment Corenswet appears to step in to snap at the photographer for touching Alcock without her permission. In the short clip, Corenswet is chatting with Alcock and *Superman* costars Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult when the keen photographer, seemingly wanting to get a shot, places his hand on the *Supergirl *star's back to get her attention.

Corenswet breaks away from the conversation to exchange words with the photographer, moving closer to Alcock's side and gesturing at the crowd around them in what appears to be agitation. The foursome resume their conversation shortly thereafter.

Unsurprisingly, the clip has made its rounds on social media, with the original poster on X captioning their post: "Why tf would you put your hands on an actress at their movie premiere as a photographer?"

"Superman protecting his cousin like usual," one user quipped of Corenswet's move being similar to one his onscreen persona, Clark Kent/Superman, would pull for Alcock's Kara Zor-El (a.k.a. Supergirl).

Another user wrote, "A big respect for David for stepping up like that. Photographers need to keep their hands to themselves."

"And this is what women are talking about. There is no reason for you to put your hands on her. All the other photographers got her attention without touching her," one user responded.

The moment didn't spoil the big night for Alcock or her costars, who are gearing up to release the newest DC Universe (DCU) entry on Friday.

Alcock is the latest actress to take on the *Supergirl* mantle, following the likes of Helen Slater, Melissa Benoist, and Sasha Calle. Alcock is part of James Gunn's makeover of the DC Universe, in which she made her debut with a cameo in the final scene of Gunn's *Superman*, with the drunk heroine showing up to retrieve her dog, Krypto, from her cousin, Kal-El (Corenswet).

And just like Kara came crashing into her cousin's world, he's returning the favor by crossing over into her neck of the woods for her solo film.

As* Supergirl *director Craig Gillespie recently shared with ***, *Kal-El will share an "almost older-sibling dynamic" with Kara.

"They have such different upbringings," he said. "Superman hasn't gone through trauma. He came from a very loving family and was almost groomed to be in this role, whereas Supergirl has been through trauma and the role's kind of being pushed upon her at a later age and she's having to adjust to that."

Gillespie continued, "Even though they're cousins, you get this almost older-sibling dynamic, and that can be adversarial at times. He's the gentle guy that wants to reach out and be patient, and she's having to find a way and find herself."

Inspired by the *Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow* comic arc by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, the film involves a young alien girl, Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), seeking Kara's aid in bringing the one who killed her family to justice, Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts). When Krem poisons Supergirl's dog, Krypto — the last of her immediate family from Krypton — with a lethal toxin, she only has three days to retrieve the antidote, which is in Krem's possession.

Jason Momoa, who previously played Aquaman in the last iteration of the DC universe, also features prominently in the role of Lobo, a heavy-metal, motorcycle-riding intergalactic bounty hunter.

Disappearing acts in Hollywood are nothing new. Greta Garbo, one of the industry's biggest stars throughout the 1920s and '30s, retired from acting in 1941 and lived largely out of the spotlight until her death in 1990.

Of course, you don't have to go back that far for examples. A-list stars like Jack Nicholson and the late Gene Hackman went from being prolific performers to living almost entirely off the radar in their later years.

While it can be hard to imagine anyone willingly stepping away from stardom, there are countless reasons celebrities might retreat from public life, from burnout and a lack of appealing roles to personal struggles that demand their full attention.

Regardless of the reason, we're still fascinated by the stars who chose to walk away. While some eventually return for the right opportunity — like Rick Moranis, who will be back on the big screen for the long-awaited *Spaceballs* sequel in 2027 — most continue to keep a low profile. Some haven't been seen in years.

Bridget Fonda had a prolific run in the ‘90s, appearing in films like *The Godfather Part III* (1990), *Single White Female* (1992), *It Could Happen to You* (1994), and *A Simple Plan* (1998). She abruptly retired after playing the title role in the 2002 TV movie *The Snow Queen*.

Over the years, there has been ample speculation over what drove Fonda, now 62, to leave her career behind. Many assume she simply opted to focus on her family. In 2003, she married composer Danny Elfman. The couple had a son, Oliver, in 2005.

It’s not only that Fonda hasn’t been making movies, though — she’s also hardly been seen in public. After appearing at the 2009 premiere of *Inglourious Basterds*, she wasn’t publicly photographed again until 2023, when the *Daily Mail* caught up with her at the airport.

In a rare interview, Fonda made it clear that she had no desire to return to acting. When asked if she’d ever come back to Hollywood, she answered, “I don’t think so. It’s too nice being a civilian.”

Since then, Fonda has been spotted in public a little more often. She and Elfman were seen out together in April 2025, and she was photographed shopping in Beverly Hills that December.

For anyone who grew up in the ‘80s, Phoebe Cates was an icon thanks to her performances in *Fast Times at Ridgemont High* (1982) and *Gremlins* (1984). On the whole, though, her filmography is relatively brief. After starring in *Princess Caraboo* (1994), Cates retired, returning to the big screen only once for 2001’s *The Anniversary Party*, reportedly as a favor to her friend and former costar Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Like Bridget Fonda — with whom Cates appeared in *Shag* (1988) — Cates stopped acting to focus on her family. She married actor Kevin Kline in 1989 and the couple had two children: actor and director Owen Kline (born in 1991) and musician Greta Kline (born in 1994).

Although Cates, 62, never announced a formal retirement, her husband gave some insight into her decision in a 1998 interview with *Playboy* (via *The New Zealand Herald*). “We have agreed to alternate so that we’re never working at the same time,” Kline told the magazine. “[But] whenever it’s been her slot to work, Phoebe has chosen to stay with the children.”

Cates does make red-carpet appearances with Kline, but she has also found another passion to pursue. For the last 20 years, she’s been owning and operating her boutique, Blue Tree, in Manhattan.

One of Hollywood's most dramatic disappearing acts belongs to Linda Fiorentino, who broke through in the '90s with *The Last Seduction* (1994), *Men in Black* (1997), and *Dogma* (1999). In the 2000s, however, she stopped making movies and hasn't been seen in public for years.

Fiorentino, now 68, has never publicly discussed her retirement, leaving fans to speculate about what led her to withdraw so completely from the industry. Some observers have suggested that conflicts with *Dogma* director Kevin Smith and a reported behind-the-scenes feud with *Men in Black* star Tommy Lee Jones contributed to a reputation for being difficult, which may have hurt her career prospects.

Fiorentino's name also surfaced in connection with the 2008 wiretapping case involving private investigator Anthony Pellicano. Prosecutors alleged that FBI agent Mark Rossini improperly shared confidential information related to the case with Fiorentino, with whom he was romantically involved. Rossini later pleaded guilty to illegally accessing and disclosing confidential FBI information.

Whatever the reason for Fiorentino's absence, she hasn't appeared onscreen since starring in the direct-to-video *Once More with Feeling* in 2009. The *Daily Mail* reported that she filed for bankruptcy in 2023.

Gene Hackman

There was an outpouring of grief and tributes when Gene Hackman died at 95 in 2025. The two-time Academy Award winner starred in several cinematic classics, including *The French Connection* (1971), *The Conversation* (1974), *Unforgiven* (1992), and *The Royal Tenenbaums* (2001). But at the time of his death, Hackman hadn’t appeared in a film since *Welcome to Mooseport* in 2004.

While Hackman suffered from Alzheimer’s disease in his later years, he retired from acting for a different health reason. “The straw that broke the camel’s back was actually a stress test that I took in New York,” he told *Empire* in 2009. “The doctor advised me that my heart wasn’t in the kind of shape that I should be putting it under any stress.”

In another rare interview with *GQ* two years later, Hackman said he’d consider coming out of retirement under very specific conditions. “If I could do [a movie] in my own house, maybe, without them disturbing anything and just one or two people,” he shared.

Hackman did have a bit of a second act as an author of historical fiction novels, beginning with 1999's *Wake of the Perdido Star*, cowritten with Daniel Lenihan. His final book, the thriller *Pursuit*, came out in 2013.

Though he was no longer appearing onscreen, Hackman continued to lend his voice to documentary projects. He narrated four episodes of the documentary series *America's Game: The Super Bowl Champions*, and provided voiceover for *The Unknown Flag Raiser of Iwo Jima* (2016) and *We, the Marines* (2017). The latter turned out to be his final credit.

Even if you don’t recognize the name Matt Keeslar, you surely know his face. The actor’s dashing looks made him stand out in a number of ‘90s and 2000s indie films, like *Waiting for Guffman* (1996), *The Last Days of Disco* (1998), and *Psycho Beach Party* (2000). But Keeslar also made more mainstream appearances, including in *Scream 3* (2000) and the Stephen King miniseries *Rose Red*.

There’s no mystery about where Keeslar went. He quit the business in 2010 and decided to pursue an education in science. While attending Portland Community College, Keeslar wrote an essay explaining his decision to leave Hollywood. “Although I happened upon success earlier in my career, I hadn’t worked in over a year," he recalled. "We had stretched our budget to its limit.”

Keeslar stepped back from the spotlight after a 2010 episode of *Leverage*, though he did make one final TV appearance in a 2015 episode of *Grimm*. The fact that the series filmed in Portland, Ore., where Keeslar is based, was likely a factor.

These days, however, you're more likely to encounter the 53-year-old former actor in a medical office than on a movie screen. He currently works as a physician assistant in Portland.

Eva Mendes has been in a relationship with Ryan Gosling, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, since 2011, but her own acting career stopped 12 years ago. After memorable appearances in films like *Training Day* (2001), *Hitch* (2005), and *The Other Guys* (2010), Mendes decided she no longer wanted to act.

“​​I got tired fighting for the good roles,” she told *Variety* in a 2022 interview. “It is exciting that things are different now, so who knows what I will do in the future. But right now, I’m keeping it in the home with my kids.”

Mendes’ last film role was in *Lost River* (2014), which Gosling wrote and directed. Since then, she has largely focused on her family. Mendes and Gosling have two daughters, born in 2014 and 2016. They also tend to keep things private, with Mendes rarely walking the red carpet alongside her husband.

Her only acting credit since stepping away from live-action acting is a voice performance in a 2021 episode of *Bluey.* And it doesn’t seem like Mendes, 52, will be stepping back onscreen any time soon.

In a candid 2024 interview with the *Sunday Times*, she revealed that while she’d love to work with Gosling again, she doesn’t feel the pull of her former profession. “I was never in love with acting,” Mendes confessed. “I don’t mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn’t a great actress. I had my moments when I worked with really great people.”

As Cindy Lou Who in *How the Grinch Stole Christmas* (2000) and Jenny Humphrey on *Gossip Girl*, Taylor Momsen had one of the most recognizable faces of the 2000s. But during the fourth season of the hit CW series, Momsen became an increasingly infrequent presence. She effectively departed the show in 2010, and aside from a brief appearance in the 2012 series finale, Jenny Humphrey would prove to be her final acting role.

“I kind of just Irish-dipped,” Momsen, now 32, said in a 2025 appearance on the podcast *Call Her Daddy*. “I just wasn’t on the script the next week.”

The reasons for her departure soon became clear, however. In 2011, she explained to *Elle* (via *Today*) that she gave up acting so that she could focus on her music career. “I quit *Gossip Girl *and now tour and am in a band,” she shared. “That’s pretty much all I want to do. Hopefully, I’ll be able to only do that for the rest of my life.”

Momsen has stayed true to her word and put all her energy into her band, The Pretty Reckless. The group formed in 2009 and released their first album, *Light Me Up*, in 2010. Momsen has served as the band's frontwoman ever since.

But even if she’s no longer acting, Momsen does reference her Hollywood past. She even donned her Cindy Lou Who outfit in December 2025, shortly after releasing a Pretty Reckless cover of the *Grinch* classic “Where Are You Christmas?”

Canadian actor and comedian Rick Moranis got his start on the sketch series *SCTV* before transitioning to the big screen in *Ghostbusters* (1984), *Little Shop of Horrors* (1986), and *Honey, I Shrunk the Kids* (1989). But he gradually stepped away from live-action acting in the late '90s. His final film credits were voice roles in Disney's *Brother Bear* (2003) and its direct-to-video sequel, *Brother Bear 2* (2006).

Moranis' retirement followed the death of his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky, in 1991. Though he tried to keep working, he ultimately decided to focus his attention on raising his two young children instead.

"I took a little bit of a break," he explained to *USA Today* in 2005. "And the little bit of a break turned into a longer break, and then I found that I really didn't miss it."

In a 2015 interview with *The Hollywood Reporter*, Moranis elaborated on the transition from stardom to being a stay-at-home dad. He also made it clear that he stands by his choice. "I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever," he told the outlet. "My life is wonderful."

Though largely retired, Moranis has occasionally lent his voice to television projects, including the animated Canadian comedy *Bob & Doug* and a 2018 episode of *The Goldbergs*. But the 73-year-old actor is set to return to live-action acting in the forthcoming *Spaceballs: The New One*, his first onscreen performance since the direct-to-video sequel *Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves* (1997).

A prolific actor with roles dating back to the late '50s, Jack Nicholson hasn’t been seen onscreen since *How Do You Know* in 2010. And while he was once a prominent fixture at the Academy Awards — consider the bevy of memorable reaction shots he gifted us over the years — he hasn’t made many public appearances either.

Nicholson never officially retired, though it’s not clear if the now-89-year-old actor will ever return to films. James L. Brooks, Nicholson’s friend and the last director he worked with, said in a 2025 interview with PEOPLE that he believes Nicholson is still considering projects.

“Oh, I don't think he stopped,” Brooks shared. “I mean, he’s gotten scripts, he’s reading them, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing them.”

There hasn’t been a clear answer as to why Nicholson all but disappeared from Hollywood. In a 2025 PEOPLE interview, his friend Danny DeVito refuted long-standing rumors of health problems. “I just saw Jack a couple weeks ago — it was his birthday a month ago, and he’s great,” DeVito said.

And Nicholson hasn’t been completely absent in recent years. Aside from occasional appearances courtside at Lakers games, he popped up at *SNL50: The Anniversary Special* in 2025 to introduce his *Anger Management* (2003) costar Adam Sandler, and he appeared in a photo posted by his daughter Lorraine in April 2026.

The AI program has more than 400 reported problems Saturday on Downdetector and "response incomplete claude," and error message people are getting is trending on Google. The issues started just after 1 p.m.

June 20 (Reuters) - Days after scoring in Norway's 4-1 win over Iraq, Norway defender Leo Ostigard has become ‌a father, following the birth of his first ‌child over FaceTime as he continues his World Cup campaign with the squad.

Ostigard, ​who has been receiving parenting tips from teammate Erling Haaland, provided long-distance support to his partner Aurora Eidmann as she gave birth to their son on Friday.

"I'm completely exhausted myself, it ‌was absolutely amazing. She ⁠did so well, there wasn't much I could say, I just had to help her work ⁠and get him out. I'm proud, amazing," the 26-year-old said in a video published by the Norwegian FA on its ​social media ​channels.

"When I saw him for ​the first time, I was ‌blown away. It's absolutely insane. I'm so happy and proud. It's definitely the greatest thing I've ever experienced," he told reporters.

Ostigard told reporters that shortly after his son was born, the family's peace was broken by a knock on his ‌hotel room door.

"Four lads came jumping ​into the room. It was probably ​Sander (Berge), Erling (Haaland) and Joergen (Strand ​Larsen)," Ostigard said.

Norway play Senegal in Group I ‌at the New York/New Jersey ​Stadium on Monday.

"I ​think it makes me a little more relaxed, that everything has gone well, because you never know. Now ​it's just joy ‌and I'm very happy that things are good, and ​that my boy is out," Ostigard said.

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) — No one ever leading at Shinnecock Hills the last 40 years at the halfway point has won the U.S. Open, a small slice of history that awaited Wyndham Clark. He had a four-shot lead in the fierce wind of Saturday.

Dustin Johnson led by that much eight years ago and that didn't end well.

But it's really not about Clark as much as it is everyone else, and the reminder to fight to the end.

Geoff Ogilvy can speak from the experience of 20 years ago at Winged Foot, where he played the last 12 holes with four bogeys and no birdies and won at 5-over 285. He is the last U.S. Open champion to have never broken par in any of the four rounds.

But what he recalls is a conversation the morning of the final round with World Golf Hall of Famer Judy Rankin, a relative by marriage. She told him: "Everyone wakes up Monday morning, looks at the newspaper and is surprised by the score that won the U.S. Open."

"I know that more from watching than playing," Rankin said Saturday morning from her home in Midland, Texas, where she was quick to point out that "it's blowing here, too." She devoted the second half of her career to broadcasting.

"I just said, 'Save ever shot.' I'm telling you, you never know at the U.S. Open what's going to happen," she said. "It's a different kind of experience."

No need to look back any further than last year, when J.J. Spaun began the final round at Oakmont with five bogeys in six holes. He birdied the last two to win.

"I just remember telling him to try to the bitter end if you're in it, because you'll be surprised," Rankin said.

"It's so true," said Andy North, a two-time U.S. Open champion working television this week at Shinnecock Hills. "You look at the scores the next day and everyone is ticked but the winner."

Here's how the weekend unfolded in the previous U.S. Opens at Shinnecock Hills:

2018

Johnson had just returned to No. 1 in the world and looked the part. He opened with 69-67, the only player under par going into the weekend and with a four-shot lead.

But then the USGA didn't account for how dry and windy the course became, and pin positions late in the day made it a brute. Putts were rolling 50 feet by the hole and over the green. No one from the final 22 groups matched par. Johnson shot 77 and was still tied for the lead.

Brooks Koepka, five shots behind going into the weekend, emerged the winner with a 68 on a course the USGA soaked overnight.

2004

Phil Mickelson and Shigeki Maruyama shared the 36-hole lead at 6-under 134. Retief Goosen had one of only three rounds under par on Saturday to take the lead. In the final round in which the greens baked out — particularly the par-3 seventh green — no one broke par.

Goosen was scrambling the whole way around, but he showed his U.S. Open mettle that day when he one-putted the final six greens. This still looked like Mickelson's to win until he three-putted from 5 feet on the 17th hole.

Maruyama, meanwhile, went 74-76 on the weekend and tied for fourth.

1995

For the second straight time at Shinnecock Hills, Greg Norman had the the 36-hole lead by two shots. As usual, someone else ended up holding the trophy.

Corey Pavin, six shots behind going into the weekend, cut the deficit in half on Saturday. He fell four shots behind after a bogey on the third hole. That was his last bogey of the round. Norman and Tom Lehman slowly came back to the field. Pavin saved par with a 5-foot putt on the 17th. And then he hit the famous 4-wood into the 18th that secured the win.

Norman had nine straight pars in the middle of his round — U.S. Open golf — until two straight bogeys early on the back nine cost him the lead, and a bogey on the 17th put him behind. He needed birdie on the 18th to force a playoff. He made bogey.

1986

This was the year of Norman's famous "Saturday slam" when he had the 54-hole lead at all four majors (and only won the British Open).

He was up by three shots over Lee Trevino and Denis Watson going into the weekend, four shots clear over a group that included Raymond Floyd and Tom Watson. In a final round of good scoring, 10 players had at least a share of the lead. Floyd didn't pull ahead until a birdie on the 13th hole.

Floyd was bogey-free for a 66 to win by two shots.

LONDON (AP) — Rising heavyweight star Moses Itauma is set for his toughest challenge when he faces Filip Hrgovic of Croatia on Aug. 29 in London, with a title fight likely for the winner.

The 21-year-old southpaw, who has drawn comparisons to a young Mike Tyson, has been eying a title shot in 2026 and turned more heads in March with his brutal knockout of Jermaine Franklin Jr.

"This fight is the litmus test Moses is ready for and it is the one he wanted," Queensberry promoter Frank Warren said in Friday's announcement of the bout at The 02. "Filip believes it will be too much too soon for the young star."

Itauma (14-0, 12 KOs) and Hrgovic (21-1, 15 KOs) are first and second, respectively, in the WBO rankings.

Daniel Dubois beat Fabio Wardley in May for the WBO belt, and Wardley has exercised a rematch clause.

The 34-year-old Hrgovic, who won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, earned a third-round stoppage against British fighter Dave Allen in May. The 6-foot-6 Croatian's only loss as a pro was to Dubois in 2024.

The 6-foot-2 Itauma turned pro three years ago with a debut KO victory that lasted just 23 seconds. Only twice in his career has he failed to win by stoppage. Both of those were six-round bouts in 2023.

Itauma's father is Nigerian and his mother is from Slovakia, where Itauma was born. They moved to southeast England — Chatham in Kent — when he was young.
