Denise Richards is getting candid about her plastic surgery journey
Speaking with Allure, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum said she underwent a facelift eight months ago, and opened up about being happy with her results

Denise Richards is getting candid about her plastic surgery journey.
Speaking with Allure for an interview published on Friday, March 20, the actress and reality TV star, 55, opened up about getting a facelift eight months ago — more than three decades after she first went under the knife at age 19 for breast implants.
"I wanted to put things back up, where they were before," Richards told the outlet of her facelift, sharing that while she had undergone plastic surgery before, the prospect of having surgery on her face was "terrifying."
"Being in the public eye since my 20s, people know what I look like—a facelift is not something that I could hide," she said.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told Allure that she first met with Dr. Ben Talei of Beverly Hills to begin her facelift process after hearing about him through the doctor who did her breast implant revision surgery, after she ruptured both of her breast implants while competing on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test season 3.
Richards said she trusted Talei completely, and couldn't have been happier with the results after undergoing a facelift with a temporal brow lift, upper blepharoplasty, lip lift for the outer corners of her mouth and fat grafting.
"My face was in his hands," she said, recalling how some of her celebrity friends advised her to go all the way if she was going to get surgery, rather than skip some features like her eyes, as she was considering.

"I said, 'You're the artist. Whatever you want to do,' " she recalled telling Talei. "... It is night and day. It's shocking, actually."
The actress also opened up about the details of her cosmetic surgeries that came to light amid her divorce from her ex, Aaron Phypers.
"Going through my divorce, my ex disclosed that I'd had a facelift," she told Allure. "He had a photographer show up outside an appointment where I had some microneedling on my scars. So [my ex] told someone that I had a facelift, and said it was botched, which is really ridiculous."
"You know, I went back and forth about whether I was going to say anything about my facelift—um, he kind of let the cat out of the bag," Richards added. "I think I could have gotten away with, 'Oh, she looks so much better after her divorce.' I think I probably would've been able to get away with it—or not, I don't know."

Elsewhere in her conversation with Allure, Richards opened up about her daughters' (Lola Sheen, 20, Sami Sheen, 22, both of whom she shares with ex Charlie Sheen, and Eloise Richards, 14, who she shares with Phypers) somewhat negative initial reaction to her facelift — and spoke about advising one of her kids not to get a nose job several years back.
"My oldest daughters were not happy that I was doing it," she explained. "But I think now they understand, and they see that I still look like me. I think they were just worried, in general, of [me] having surgery."
"...I didn't want [my daughter] Sami to get a nose job about two years ago. So when she said she didn't want me to get a facelift, she said, 'Mom, you did not want me to get a nose job.' I said, 'Yeah, but you were 20 years old and that's your nose. That could change the way you look," Richards continued. "For me, he's just putting things back where they were. I'm not trying to change the way I look; I'm just trying to put things back. There's a little difference, in my opinion.'"
