*Tracker star *Justin Hartley encounters a familiar face on the next episode of the CBS crime drama.

Erica Durance, his costar on *Smallville*, steps in to play the part of Laura, the girlfriend of a veteran stuntman, Baxter (David Ramsey), who's disappeared following a risky stunt on a B-movie. She calls on Hartley's title character, who soon finds shady producers and links to a dangerous underground world.

In the scene, Hartley's Colter questions Laura in pursuit of more information that could lead him to Baxter.

"When we first started working together, I could tell that he was struggling," she tells him. "So I brought him to an AA meeting."

She explains that he'd taken pain pills — "pretty common in our line of work" — to help the aches and severe pain he'd suffered.

"Is there a chance maybe that your boyfriend relapsed?" Colter asks.

But Durance's Laura insists that her boyfriend was fine when she last saw him the previous day. They had attended an AA meeting as usual.

When Hartley's Colter asks if they'd had any problems with anyone on the set where they working, Laura responds honestly.

"Yeah, I mean, everyone, except maybe the caterers," she tells him. "You know, he wasn't one to keep his mouth shut."

She added that someone had helped her sneak back onto the lot where they had last worked, but someone else spotted her. And she wasn't welcomed.

"These people are hiding something. I can feel it," Laura tells Colter, who agrees to investigate further.

Encountering one another on the set is nothing new for Durance and Hartley, who both starred on the *Superman* origin series for years.

While Durance played Lois Lane from 2004 until the show ended in 2011, Hartley joined the series in its sixth season, in 2006, to play Oliver Queen/Green Arrow from then on out.

*Smallville*, which originally aired on the WB and later The CW, ran for 10 seasons in all. Depicting the teenage Clark Kent, who was played by Tom Welling, the cast also included Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang), Aaron Ashmore (Jimmy Olsen), Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor), Terrence Stamp (Jor-El), and more. The show won three Emmys.

Now in its third season,* Tracker* airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
