Taylor Frankie Paul's *Secret Lives of Mormon Wives* costars are speaking out after her season of the *Bachelorette* was abruptly shelved amid a domestic violence investigation.
ABC pulled the plug on season 22 of the reality dating series just days before the premiere, after news emerged about an alleged domestic assault incident between Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, which also halted production on *Mormon Wives*. Paul's castmates are now weighing in on the latest twists and turns, including the release of a video from a previous 2023 altercation in which Paul can be seen throwing a chair at Mortensen in the presence of her oldest child.
"I've honestly been a little at a loss for words trying to process this all," Miranda McWhorter wrote on her Instagram story Friday. "Everything has been really heavy to see. Domestic violence and abuse of any kind if something I take very seriously. As a human, and especially as a mother, I cannot support that kind of behavior. My heart is with the children in this and I hope they're safe, supported, and surrounded by love."
Fellow *Mormon Wives* star Layla Taylor also weighed in on social media, writing, "My personal history as a survivor makes it impossible for me to stay silent. I stand firmly against domestic violence in any form. I am keeping her children in my thoughts, hoping for their safety above all else."

The statements come a day after Disney, which owns ABC, announced, "In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of *The Bachelorette* at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family."
Paul previously pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault in 2023. As part of her plea deal, she was placed on probation — set to end in August — and prosecutors dropped the remaining charges.

"Taylor is very grateful for ABC's support as she prioritizes her family's safety and security," her spokesperson said in a statement Thursday. "After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm."
The statement continued, "There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story."

Mortensen, who has filed for a restraining order against Paul, said Thursday in a statement to EW, "As anyone who has seen the video will understand, this is a deeply upsetting situation." He added, "I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny. I am focusing on our son and his safety, and hope that Taylor will do the same."
Paul rose to prominence as an influencer and one of the faces of #MomTok, leading to the creation of Hulu's *The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives*, a reality show following the personal lives of Paul and other Utah-based social media figures. ABC made the surprising announcement last year that it was naming Paul as the next Bachelorette, marking the first time they'd ever gone outside of the *Bachelor* family for the series' star.
