Savannah Guthrie speaks in 'agony' in first interview about mom's disappearance.

Savannah Guthrie is sharing new details of her family's ongoing agony with the world.

In the first part of a pre-taped interview that aired Thursday (below), the longtime *Today* anchor joined Hoda Kotb for an emotional conversation about the abduction of her 84-year-old mother Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for 54 days.

"My sister called me. I said, 'Is everything OK?'" Savannah began, detailing how she found out that her mom was missing. "And she said, 'No.' She said, 'Mom's missing.' And I said, 'What? What are you talking about?' She said, 'She's gone.' And she was in a panic. I was in a panic.'"

Annie, Savannah's sister, had also called 911. They initially speculated that Nancy "must have had some kind of medical episode" during the night and "somehow the paramedics had come because the back doors (of Nancy's home) were propped open."

"And that didn't make any sense," Savannah continued. "We thought maybe they came and there was a stretcher, and they took her out the back. But her phone was there and her purse was there and all her things. And it just didn't make any sense."

Savannah said it was "just chaos and disbelief" as she called hospitals and Annie spoke to officers.

The mother of the *Today* anchor was last seen outside her Catalina Foothills, Ariz., home on the evening of Jan. 31 when she was dropped off at home after having dinner with family. The following day, she was declared missing after she did not appear at a friend's house for her weekly church meeting, and a large-scale search was launched.

"My mom, she was in tremendous pain," Savannah added on Thursday. "Her back was very bad. On a good day, she could walk down to the mailbox and get the mail, but most days not. So there wasn't a wander off. And the doors were propped open, and there was blood on the front doorstep. And the Ring camera had been yanked off. And so we were saying, 'This this is not OK. Something is very wrong here.'"

The situation grew more dire when, on Feb. 2, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos announced that Nancy's disappearance was being investigated as a crime and declared her home a crime scene, revealing that traces of Guthrie's blood had been discovered on her porch. Since then, authorities have described the case as a possible kidnapping or abduction, but clues have been scarce.

Seven weeks into the search for Nancy, authorities have not identified any suspects or persons of interest. FBI Director Kash Patel previously shared photos and video of a masked person on Nancy's doorstep, from footage captured on the night she disappeared.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI urged those with information to contact them at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

As for the Guthrie family, Savannah and her siblings have made several public pleas for information and increased the reward for Nancy's return to $1 million. The family has acknowledged that while she "may already be gone," they can not be at peace until her disappearance is resolved.

The emotional conversation between Savannah and Kotb — Savannah's former *Today* show colleague who returned to the network in February to cover for her friend amid Nancy's disappearance — will air in three parts, the first two of which were released Thursday. The third segment is slated to air on Friday, March 27. A special *Dateline* will also air that night at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
