Hot off the release of the Hannah Montana: 20th Anniversary Special, Miley Cyrus stepped out for the iHeartRadio Music Awards Thursday night. She skipped the Disney nostalgia for the event and opted for a more minimalist look instead, wearing a long black leather jacket with coordinating pants. She accessorized with pointed heels and simple rings.

Cyrus received the Innovator Award at last night's ceremony, a career honor that recognized her continuing contributions to music and culture. As Billboard noted, past recipients have included Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé.

Earlier this week, Cyrus paid homage to her Disney Channel character at the premiere of Hannah Montana's 20th anniversary special, wearing a Hannah Montana T-shirt with a crystal Rabanne gown.

She recently spoke in her Variety cover story about revisiting her Hannah Montana days, saying, "A lot of artists feel like to become the next version of themselves, they have to leave something behind. But I'd rather be more like a gorgeous patchwork blanket. I'd rather take every little piece of all the things that I've been and create a mosaic of exactly who I am now—not trashing any of that past but allowing it to come with me."

She also discussed how open she was to performing the Super Bowl halftime show, a feat that past Innovator Award honorees Beyoncé and Lady Gaga have accomplished.

"I always think the Super Bowl feels like too much pressure," she admitted. "I would have to do the mental work of making it not about the Super Bowl, because then you can't help but go, 'It's millions of people, and it's the most-watched thing in the world.'"

But she is open to it under the right circumstances, she admitted: "But if I could find a way to make it exactly what the Hannahversary was—taking a journey through the discography and appreciating each song, each era for what it is—I think I could find it in myself."
