Teamwork makes the dream work!

The cast of Laguna Beach have each other's backs 20 years later. On Thursday, March 26, the stars of the MTV reality series reunited at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, Calif., to celebrate the show's reunion special, The Reunion: Laguna Beach.

In a moment captured by StyleCaster, Lauren Conrad and Stephen Colletti can be seen helping out Kristin Cavallari during a wardrobe malfunction. As Cavallari, 39, goes to sit down on a chair on-stage, she struggles with the very short skirt of her minidress. Colletti, 40, quickly grabs a pillow to cover her, while Conrad, 40, stands in front of the reality star.

For the event, the entire cast seemingly referenced the iconic black and white party from the show's first episode, "A Black and White Affair." In it, Conrad and her friends throw a formal party with a black and white dress code. The episode also introduces the love triangle between Conrad, Colletti and Cavallari, causing tension at the gathering.

On the reunion red carpet, the cast all sported black and white ensembles as a nod to the iconic debut episode. Conrad opted for a strapless white midi dress with a textured pattern, while Colletti went with a simple white shirt and black pants.

Cavallari directly referenced her look from the episode by wearing a very similar strapless white minidress. She also accessorized with a black choker, her signature look from the series.

"Someone said Laguna Beach is back ... and that means the black choker is too," the reality star captioned a snap of her look on Instagram, tagging her brand Uncommon James.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE on the red carpet, Conrad and Cavallari opened up about how they mended their tumultuous relationship after constantly clashing on the series, which followed a group of high school students as they navigated the ups and downs of being a teen in Southern California, and fighting over Colletti.

"I think it was great," Conrad, 40, tells PEOPLE of making up with Cavallari, 39. "It was part of what we wanted to show is that we've all grown, we're all adults, a lot of us are parents. And I think that as you get older, you're not worried about the small stuff."

Cavallari agreed, telling PEOPLE, "I'm really happy about it."

"I'm thankful that we had the opportunity to even do that," explained Cavallari. "And it's been, obviously for us we haven't had any beefs for the last however many years. We're adults. We've all moved past it, but I think it's nice and to show everybody that we've moved past it is going to be really therapeutic in a lot of ways."
