The King, 77, and Queen, 78, joined the family at the Easter Mattins church service at St. George's Chapel, located in Windsor Castle, on Sunday, April 5.

Other royals in attendance included Kate Middleton and Prince William with their three children —Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, — as well as Princess Anne, joined by her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, while Prince Edward attended with his son James, Earl of Wessex.

Not in attendance were the former Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who joined the royal family for their Easter church outing in 2025. Though Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019 amid fallout over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, he had continued to appear at key family gatherings, including funerals and holidays.

That changed as fresh scrutiny mounted last year, prompting King Charles to strip his younger brother of his royal titles in October 2025. Andrew was also forced to leave his longtime home at Royal Lodge. He was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office and released after 11 hours in custody. The investigation remains ongoing.

Andrew and Sarah's two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, also skipped the event despite attending Christmas with the royal family in December. It was revealed earlier this week that Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 36, had made alternative plans for the holiday this year with the agreement and understanding of their uncle, King Charles.

King Charles and Queen Camilla started their Easter celebrations on Thursday by taking part in the Royal Maundy Service, where they distributed gifts of "Maundy Money" in a tradition that dates back to 600 A.D.

The special coins recognize those over the age of 70 for outstanding service to their communities, and the number of recipients matches the age of the monarch. This year, 77 men and 77 women received the gift to thank them for their community contributions.

This year's Royal Maundy Service took place at St. Asaph Cathedral in Wales, the U.K.'s smallest ancient cathedral, marking the first time the event has been held in Wales since 1982 and only the second time in its history.
