Bebe Rexha is shutting down critics who have been picking apart her appearance at the 2026 AMAs.
The singer, 36, responded to critics online who have been attacking her appearance since she attended the 2026 American Music Awards on May 25. In a post on X, shared on May 27, Rexha decided to use the negative attention to platform an issue more relevant to her.
In a post that juxtaposed a much older photo of Rexha with a clip of her recently at the AMAs, the user asked, "Be honest... what's your first thought?"

"My thought is... My new album dirty blonde is out June 12th. Available for pre order now," Rexha coolly responded.
The increased criticism toward Rexha comes years after she faced similar online hate, often in the form of body shaming. In June 2023, Rexha — who's previously been open about her experience with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome — shut down critics who claimed she had gained weight, noting she's tired of her physical appearance being a point of discussion.
“I know I got fat,” the singer wrote in a post on X. “I'm just so sick of people talking about it. NEXT!!!!!!”

"Human beings go through weight fluctuations it's life and you don't know what people are going through," she added in another post shortly after. "Meds, disease, etc…"
According to Mayo Clinic, PCOS (now sometimes referred to as Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome [PMOS]) is a hormonal disturbance in which cysts form along the outer edge of the ovary, which often sees Type 2 diabetes and heart disease as possible long-term complications. Weight gain is also a common concern, because PCOS is often associated with insulin resistance, per Cleveland Clinic.

Rexha's comments in 2023 came after she noticed a disheartening search prompt on TikTok, which read "Bebe Rexha weight," and shared a screenshot of the search on X.
"Seeing that search bar is so upsetting," she wrote in the post at the time. "I'm not mad cause it's true. I did gain weight. But it just sucks. Thank you to all the people who love me no matter what."
