A former Carolina Panthers general manager is in on a new deal.
According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, Scott Fitterer is joining Athletes First—a sports representation and marketing agency—as an executive in their coaches and executives division. The 52-year-old served as the general manager of the Panthers from 2021 to 2023.
Prior to his stint in Carolina, Fitterer spent nearly two decades with the Seattle Seahawks—where he served as a scout (2001 to 2010), director of college scouting (2011 to 2014), co-director of player personnel (2015 to 2019) and vice president of football operations (2020).

In their three seasons with Fitterer leading their front office, the Panthers went a combined 14-37. Fitterer would be fired on Jan. 8, 2024—a day after the team tied a franchise record for losses in a single season (15).
He'd go on to work as a personnel executive for the Washington Commanders in 2024 and 2025.
