PEOPLE has an exclusive look at Scott, 47, in the role of Cecil Winchester, whom he describes as "charming and a little dangerous."

"He's sad, he's looking for change," he teases in a video message. "Maybe he could be the best addition to Murdoch's team, so maybe he's gonna come back in the future. Maybe he could help Murdoch figure out some of these issues. He's only lived in New York for six months. It's an easy move to come to Toronto, why not?"

"I think he'll find more things he likes in Toronto if he makes the move," Scott adds. "I would say that Cecil is probably the most charming, sexy guy to just come into the world of Murdoch as of late. This was amazing. I had so much fun."

Murdoch Mysteries, which airs across 120 countries worldwide, is Canada's longest-running drama series and follows Murdoch as he uses innovative forensic techniques to solve crimes.

Scott has opened up about his acting gigs before. In 2020, he revealed to PEOPLE that he evenlanded a role on the CW'sSmallville, though it did not exactly show off his acting skills.

"I was the body double for Tom Welling," he explained. "So when they're doing, like, butt shots and ab shots, I was the one they were using."

"It was great. It was a little side thing," he continued. "I was pursuing acting back in the day and between gigs a friend of mine who was the stand-in for the character Lex Luther said, 'Hey we need a fill to do some stand-in and some photo doubling for Superman,' and I'm like, 'And you're looking at me?' So that was just a fun gig I did a little bit of."

The season 19 finale ofMurdoch Mysteriesairs on Monday, April 13, at 8 p.m. ET on CBC/CBC Gem in Canada and on Ovation in the U.S., with a later 2026 release scheduled for Acorn TV.
