No Luka Doncic, no problem for the Los Angeles Lakers. With the six-time All-Star serving a one-game suspension after accumulating 16 technical fouls throughout the regular season, it was LeBron James who led the charge for L.A.
James went off on Monday night to lead the Lakers to a convincing 120-111 win over the Washington Wizards. James dropped another triple-double with 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. He also added a block and one three-pointer in 33 minutes of action.
At 41, James broke his own record for the oldest player to record a triple-double in the NBA. This was his third of the season and 125th in his career.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick ran out of superlatives for James after the latter's latest awe-inspiring performance. Speaking to reporters after Monday's win, Redick had no words for James.
"I'll just say he's very praise-worthy," Redick said. "I don't know what else to say about him at this point."

More importantly, the Lakers improved to 49-26 after taking down the Wizards. They increased their lead over the 48-28 Denver Nuggets for the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference. As of writing, L.A. is now 1.5 games ahead of Jokic and Co. with seven games remaining in the regular season.
The Lakers will now be looking to make it four wins in a row in their next game. They host one of James' former teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers, at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday.
It has been a relatively healthy season for James, but the fact that it's a back-to-back set for the Lakers means that his final status for the Cavs game will be worth monitoring.
