Constance Zimmer is preparing *Love Story* fans for the finale this week.

The actress, who portrays Carolyn Bessette's mother, Ann Freeman, on the FX drama, gave insight into the final episode in a recent interview with Decider. "I think we all know what's coming," Zimmer said. "It's just how we're telling it." Though she couldn't reveal any details about the upcoming episode, she also said the finale would "be very, very difficult for everybody to watch."

*Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette* dramatizes the relationship between political scion John F. Kennedy Jr. (Paul Anthony Kelly) and fashion executive Carolyn Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon). They married in 1996.

Their lives were cut short when they, along with Bessette's sister Lauren (portrayed by Sydney Lemmon), died in a plane crash somewhere off Martha's Vineyard on July 16, 1999. Kennedy had been piloting the plane flown from New Jersey to drop Lauren off in Martha's Vineyard and arrive at Cape Cod to attend the wedding of his cousin Rory Kennedy.**

After days of searching, the aircraft was discovered underwater on July 20. Their bodies were recovered the following day, and autopsies revealed that they died on impact.

Zimmer also elaborated on how she believed her character would have reacted in the moment during her conversation with Decider,* *and on not getting ahead of herself knowing the real-life outcome. "That's the biggest thing you learn as an actor, is to never play the end, right?" she said. "We read scripts all the time, we know what's coming and our job is to not show that. So it is difficult because it's a different emotion."

She added, "Because if I had that emotion — if I had that in my speech, let's say that emotion would be far greater and far bigger — so you can't. It's almost like you get that information and then it's got to go away. You can't think about it."**

Zimmer concluded, "It's why I think [Episode] 9 is going to be very, very difficult for everybody to watch because it's going to be — to me, that is what [Episode] 9 is for. It's for all of us to feel all the things that we have been feeling watching the show, and when everything happened, actually in real time back then."

Produced by Ryan Murphy, the FX limited series has received criticism from the Kennedy family. JFK Jr.'s nephew Jack Schlossberg called out the show during an interview with *CBS Sunday Morning* earlier this month. "Well, if you want to know someone who's never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy," he said when asked about the show.

"I would just want people who do watch the show to watch it with one letter in mind, and that's a capital F for 'fiction,'" he continued. "The guy knows nothing about what he's talking about, and he's making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else's life."

Schlossberg added, "I would hope that Mr. Murphy would donate some of the millions of dollars of profits that he's making to some of the causes that John championed throughout his life. Maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK Library to help keep President Kennedy's memory alive, but he's not. He's making money. This is not a documentary. And I'll leave it at that."

The finale of *Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette *airs Thursday, March 26, on FX and will be available to stream on Hulu the following day.
