They grow up so fast.
Walking* **The Odyssey* red carpet wasn’t just a big career moment for Matt Damon; it also marked a sweet memory for his entire family. On Monday, the Oscar winner stepped out for the film’s London premiere with his wife Luciana and their four daughters.
Together, the six of them stood arm-in-arm and smiled for photos — which Damon would later admit brought him to tears.
“They’re all having fun while I’m working, but I’m so happy they’re here,” he told *Entertainment Tonight* in a red carpet interview. “Everybody’s so grown-up. Like, I got a real dad teary moment seeing them today.”

When the interviewer pointed out that his daughters are now “all grown-up,” Damon admitted that it can be overwhelming to realize how old they are now, but positive all the same.
“It’s a lot,” he noted. “It’s wonderful, but it’s a lot.”
Damon and Barroso have been together for nearly 20 years, after first crossing paths in Miami, where she worked as a bartender while he was filming *Stuck on You. *They tied the knot within two years and welcomed three daughters: Isabella, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15. Damon is also stepfather to Barroso’s 27-year-old daughter, Alexia, from a previous relationship.

Speaking to *E! News* about his kids, Damon recently acknowledged that they may be on track to follow in his movie-making footsteps, pointing out that Alexia has already been working behind the scenes as a cinematographer.
“She’s done about 12 movies,” Matt told the outlet. “[She’s] worked on camera team[s] all over the world.”
Alexia’s credits include two of Damon’s own films, 2021’s *The Last Duel *and 2024’s *The Instigators.*

As for whether the couple’s other kids will follow suit, Damon said, “The other three might. I have one who’s at NYU now, who’s a fantastic writer, so I could see her following me into screenwriting. And we have two still in high school, so we’ll see.”
Damon is gearing up to celebrate the release of Christopher Nolan’s *The Odyssey*, a blockbuster adaptation of Homer’s Greek epic that was already selling out select theaters a calendar year before its release. The film sees Damon in the lead role of Odysseus, who is fighting his way home to Ithaca after the end of the Trojan War.

In the same interview, Damon compared his experience of making *The Odyssey* — on location in Greece, Italy, Morocco, Iceland and more —to being on a long journey himself. Especially considering the distance from his family.
“It was a very easy feeling to tap into,” he said of his character Odysseus’ trek home. “My kids came over and visited it at times, but there were long stretches where we were apart. So, obviously I was thinking about a lot of the same stuff that Odysseus was thinking about.”
